Hi Mike, the wagon and chassis are from the moulds that Mainline took over from Airfix around 1983. The give away is that the Mainline version never had the door drop down spring, also underneath you can see the four body clips are at the corners and not between the axles. The couplings were designed to allow for the fitting of narrow or large 'D' at the users preference and this style carried over when mainline, Dapol and possibly Replica took over the production in subsequent years, though not the narrow coupling I think. Have the best Christmas you can in this troubling year and I look forward to more videos in 2021. Andy

Back in the 1980s most of my wagons were Mainline, the metal axle were better running but I found the plug in coupling fish tail clips broke, stay safe and have a merry from Alan in NZ!

Good day to you Mike! I hope you're doing well. I was just watching your videos on the LMS Coronation and found that you've had great difficulty in getting your crosshead not to jump upwards at the end of its stroke. I left a comment there that may be of help if you haven't yet fixed the problem. Just thought I'd let you know! Great video as always, Happy Christmas!

For the time Mainline was ahead of the game with detailing and printing it is an real shame that the company closed begs the question what if they carried on to the present? Often think same about Lima would the other companies have such an market hold like they do now will never know. Happy Christmas.

The crossed keys are the symbol for Gateway to Heaven or Gate to Heaven the keys were held by St.Peter. Perhaps the owner of these full sized wagons was a Roman Catholic. Very usual for a company to use this symbol more a common pub name.

You failed to mention these wagons are totally wrong stretched to fit a metal van chassis and load 10 tons ? Should go in the bin
