Great to find a lesson at a level I can realistically have a crack at. Not all strumming, not all picking. Brilliant.

You are a very good teacher and it cracks me up when you sing the chords in place of the lyrics, and it helps! lol
@SteveJohnsonAkaFratm11 жыл бұрын
I agree with you, and want to point out that if you do this, it will help you to be able to sing and play at the same time. Some people find this to be very hard, but if you sing out the chord changes it makes it all come together and easier. :)

When first learning a song practice as much as you can on the first day. Then sleep on I find it very helpful. Don't stress yourself
@ErikBoesen9 жыл бұрын
+PilotOblackbird I agree, or take a break for half an hour or so then play again if you don't have a whole day. This has helped me with transitions between chords sometimes. For example, I was learning Tears in Heaven by Clapton the other day, and I found myself having to consciously find positions for my fingers every time I changed chords. Then I took a break for some time, did some homework or some other unrelated activity, and when I came back I realized I could do the changes reflexively without any trouble.

I'll be honest Justin, I tried to learn this one with another video since you didn't include the riff in your intro, but finally came back to you because I love the way you teach (and your picking/fingerstyle version is beautiful). Got rewarded by the teaching of the riff at the very end. Thanks again for all the efforts you put into your videos and for being so passionate about it

I'm 49 years old, and a drummer for 40 of those years. I have taken guitar lessons at 3 or 4 times in my life, once a week and in-person with a teacher, and I never learned 1/10 as much as I have watching your videos. You have such a talent for guitar instruction! I'm going to make a donation on your web site so you can keep up the great work you're doing!
