Ok, so this installment checked all my boxes. Stunning scenery beautiful roads and the mighty GS. You asked of my favorite day rides. First I always ride alone, so as to pick and choose…whatever fancied me at that moment. In my neck of the woods, 2 hours to get up to The Great Smokey Mountains, so about 8 hours saddle time, 9-10 clock time. Always so well worth the day. And we got to witness the GS pass anything in your way. (especially that white van) So yup I’ve really enjoyed this series. Cheers Andy, very much enjoyed this one. 👍🏼 😎 🇺🇸 🌎

@@TheMissendenFlyer …. Mableton Georgia, just outside of Atlanta Ga. about 2 hours south of the Smokey Mountains, about 2 hours east of Taladega National Forest. Obviously the Harley rides in the mountains, and the Tiger rides the backwoods of that forest. It truly is a beautiful difference of these amazing bikes and their unique skill-sets. I am very lucky. 👍🏼

Hi Andy, Really enjoyed the Wales episodes. Our Pastor is from Wales, great to see all the beautiful sites. Yesterday my neighbor and I rode 470 miles on a day ride to the Mississippi River, up to the Wisconsin River and back along that river. Too many miles. I'm 73 and ride 2018 GSXS 1000. Loved your whistle stop tour, I owned a static caravan at Newgale coast holiday park for over 25 years, and as you will no doubt be told by others you missed so much of Pembrokeshire, St Davids Cathedral is stunning, and did you realise when you left Cardigan for fishgaurd you crossed the Preshilli hills the site of where henges had been quarried for Stonehenge ,and yes when the tide is in Solva harbour must be the most beautiful natural harbour in Britain, and when you dropped down into Newgale if you had taken the small coastal road you would have taken in Nolton, Broad Haven, little Haven, and many more little hamlets all the way to Milford Haven. When you have more time as you said you must do it with Mrs Flyer. Thank you...

Great content! Beautiful country. I find it interesting that different riders find different distances enjoyable. I did a multi-day ride several weeks ago and had two 500+ mile days. I found it very enjoyable and did manage to stop for a few pictures. With that said, while some of the roads were narrow and winding, like yours, I was blessed with some highways/motorways and could put down some miles. That is the beauty of riding, we get to individually do what we find enjoyable. Keep up the awesome content.

About 20 years ago I visited Cenarth and they had a visitor in the River, who they Christened Sammy the Seal. Be a good tour through the Scottish Borders Andy, we’ve just done from home in Saltburn more or less a diagonal line to Glasgow via Kielder into Scotland, Hawick, Selkirk onto Glasgow. Day off there then up to Fort William via Loch Lomond and Glencoe. Beautiful weather, stunning views. Back to Glasgow and then home via the south side of Edinburgh down the A7 to Galashiels, stop for a coffee and a sandwich at the border then A68 south to Darlington and home. 650 miles biking bliss over 4 days. Must do Wales though , great series again.

You need to hit the coastal back roads and find the hidden gems. Abereiddy, Portgain, White sands beach, Pothclais, Solva Quay. South of the county there's Pembroke, a walked town with a pretty impressive castle, Nearby beaches like Freshwater west, Broadhaven South, Barafundle Bay, I could go on. You do have to venture onto the single track roads a bit though to find the best spots. I do ride the roads in this vid though all the time,, and at certain times of the day when they're a lot quieter, they're awesome, Haverfordwest to St David's to Fishguard round to Haverfordwest loop is a beaut of a 50 mile evening blast. I agree Pembrokeshire offers something different to mid and North Wales, but this tour barely scraped the surface of what Pembrokeshire has to offer. Great vid👍 All the best!

I'm just back from a few days in the Brecon beacons and I found the place stunning, brilliant riding country. I plotted a coastal route for one day out and it looks almost the same route you took here. Difference was I carried on along the coast after Newgale to Broadhaven instead of heading for Haverfordwest. Loved the route which ended in Dale. I then returned via Haverfordwest and hit the same junction for the A40 with the option of Fishguard or St Clear, unfortunately, choosing not to use the sat nav, I chose Fishguard, got most of the way to Fishguard before checking my map only to discover I was going the wrong way! Ah well, it was a lovely stretch of road which I had to ride back along. Looking forward to the next installment 👍

You asked what sort of mileage people do a day on tour, learned a few years ago to ignore distance and base it on time. 100 miles in some places can be a long day, 500 elsewhere is a doddle. Around 5 hrs riding time a day is just about right for me when moving on every day.

most of my tours are 3 to 4 weeks into Europe, South of France, Spain. I've learned from experience that for me if I do too many hours in the saddle every day it all becomes a slog. like you said, it's supposed to be fun after all! rather than judge it by miles, I generally limit myself to approximately 3 hours actual riding per day, not including stops, lunch etc. I like to be at the hotel by 5 so I can enjoy the evening in whatever town I'm in. I also try not to do more than 4 days consecutively without a day off the bike. on trips of that length, that's what works for me and by the end I'm as fresh or fresher than when I left.

Beautiful part of the country. You showed it off very well TMF. You should definitely take Mrs TMF there. You missed out on some beautiful beaches and places to eat like Mwnt, Porthgain. Abereiddy, Lawrenny tea rooms, Angle, Dale etc It did make me smile when you missed the Cathedral. Great vids though 👍

I think a UK tour with Mrs Flyer once she's passed her test - light jaunt out away from the south east on a steady run may do wonders for her confidence. Bear in mind the average human can't stay anxious for more than 45 minutes, post that maximum enjoyment. Best pick your favourites vices at the end of it! No ideas to suggest where you should go, albeit great video and enjoyable watch... as well as hotel rant.

Like the occasional music in-dispersed throughout your vids 😁

My favourite episode in this mini tour, partly due to the lack of “music”, thanks 🇬🇧🏍

Thanks for the feeback - I've never used music in the past and thought I'd see how it goes - can't promise I won't use in future but I will keep it to a minimum....

@@TheMissendenFlyer I actually avoided part 3 because I didn't want to rush over to my computer to hit mute when that horrible music plays. The above comment was helpful. We understand content creators must "free" music... but most of that music is awful.

@@TheMissendenFlyer Very nice, thanks. I didn't think the music was overdone, quite nice actually, though I could do without the chipmunk vocals.

You chose some beautiful days to go riding and there were some great clips in this series of videos. Thank you for sharing. Also if this great weather is the result of global warming I’m going to get myself a Kawasaki H2 Mach IV. I also appreciate you starting the source of these wonderful routes. Another book to add to my Christmas list. ps. I’m not so sure the clouds you saw when you were riding were lenticulars. There were far too many “knobbly” bits. There was also very little wind at both upper and lower levels no apparent low level vertical movement as evidenced by a lack of Cumuloform clouds. It looked more like a combination of Cirrocumulus and Cirrostratus to me. My best ever height gain in a glider was 25,000’ in wave.

I'll bow to your pro level knowledge on that one - we rarely get them here of course....

Really enjoy these vids Andy. I’ve often found that if you’re observing the speed limits and not using motorways then it’s hard to average much more than 30mph on a reasonable journey. So for 150 miles I’d allow 4 to 5 hours and I’m happy with that for pleasure riding.
