I think the best thing about winx is the way it wins. Never the perfect run or the perfect set up, it just wins no matter what. In racing Iv followed for years you have to look at draws at ground at how the race is set up to find a winner even in the big events but they horse nothing matters it’s just a sheer machine, love from Newcastle England x

That was the thing- they tracked her, they went out quick, first up, second up, 1400, 2000, heavy, fast- none of it stopped her winning. And towards the end she scared off any true rivals. Some idiots like that El gran senior get on and bag the group one fields, but it wasn't coincidence they were in Sydney when she was in Melbourne and vice versa.

Winx record was 43, 37-3-0 so she was perfect but she won 33 in a row that’s the 2nd longest win streak ever. A horse named Kincsem from Hungry back in the mid 1800s I believe it was won 54 in a row but he was a sprinter and ran 2-3 times a week but your probably right no one is gonna beat 33 in a row, that’s a incredible desire to win!

Never seen a horse bring a whole nation together. I remember I was in a Melbourne suburb for one of her races and the local TAB was spilling out on to the street with people watching the TV through the window. Alot of them were not betting either. I was in their that day must have been win number 20 something when she beat the record. The sounds were crazy. People were hugging strangers.

bobby rush I agree. She's consistently the best horse since Kingston Town. I did see KT, not in the flesh but I followed his career at the timei. During his 3 and 4yo days, before he got injured I think he was better than her. after his injury he wasn't quite as good. If the 3/4yo Kingston Town raced the 4/5yo Winx 10 times at Rosehill, Randwick and Moonee Valley I reckon they'd win some each but I'd back him to win more than her. However, the point I keep trying to make and people keep misunderstanding is that whilst she is the best since KT there have been other horses between them who would have been capable of beating her at their best. They don't have the same career record as her but their peak performances, their best ever runs could match or beat Winx. If she'd raced in the 80s or 90s she would have still been a champion and the best horse of that era but I don't believe she would have won 33 races in a row. She would have lost a few. I honestly could not see any possible way she could have caught Manikato in the George Ryder as a 3yo for example.

There’s been a few races in the middle of all these wins where she was beatable but she wasn’t going against anything much so she was able to win (the start where she missed the kick by 5 for example if there had been a genuine group 1 horse in that race that day she would have been beaten) but whenever she was in her grand final she always seemed to do everything right. As far as our Aussie horses go I still think the best I’ve seen in my time at his peak was Might & Power. At 2000 at his best I think he beats Winx but he didn’t have the consistency or longevity obviously

El Gran Senor What Winx done has never been done before or will ever again 33 wins in a row tell me a horse who has done that he won 4 cox plates in a row it’s weight for age on a track that goes against Winxs racing style it’s tight 400meter straight by the time he balanced up most horses can’t get close Winx run them all down.We had Black Caviar.Or look at a horse called takeover target was bought for $1400 legs were bent won a few country race brung to city were he kept winning then gets invited to England to race in kings stand cup he won it the Queen gave the trophy to a taxi driver who bought it on the way home was invited to Singapore to race in there biggest sprint he won that as well and lastly he was on way home when Hong Kong asked to race in there International Vase there biggest sprint and won that all in 1 campaign cost $1400 there’s no better rags to riches story like it anywhere in the world!

The Aussies complain that our horses didn't go and challenge her, they constantly said bring your horses here to challenge her, the rest of the world should send their horses to Australia to take her on. Waller uttered some glib line about there being plenty of planes to Australia. Well England Ireland and Japan did! Coolmore, Godolphin and others and Japanese stables all sent horses halfway around the world to race her. About 8 or 10 horses from overseas did go out there and race her. But Winxs connections never had the respect and manners to do those overseas connections the honour of a rematch on their home turf. Highland Reel and Benbatl travelled halfway round the world and took her on in her own backyard with all the odds stacked in her favour. In 2017 when Winx was at her peak Highland Reel ran over 10f at Royal Ascot, where was Winx? Why didn't her owners return the favour to Highland Reel and give him a chance for a rematch on his home turf? Or even in the USA on neutral ground. Nuh Uh! If you took her on in her own backyard don't expect to get a rematch unless it was 100% on her terms where she had all the advantages and everything was stacked in her favour. Pretty poor really. Especially as the Japanese and Coolmore and Godolphin horses from overseas have been propping up their big carnivals for the past ten years. Highland Reel especially should have been given that respect after he travelled to race her. Why didn't Winxs connections give him a rematch in the the Prince of Wales at Ascot in 2017 or in the USA at the Breeders Cup? Godolphin raced against her a couple of times and should have been given the respect of a rematch on their home turf, never happened.

The reason SYT lost races in Europe just proves everything I’ve been saying. In Europe he encountered multiple horses as good as him, or better than him, or nearly as good as him. That’s why, if he had a slightly off day or a poor ride, he was beaten. There are 5 or 6 middle distance horses around that level in Europe most seasons. Probably more. Contrast that with Winx who only raced against vastly inferior opposition for her entire career. She could run poorly or get a bad ride and still win because her opposition was so bad. An A grade horse in Europe has to run against A Grade and B Grade opposition. If they have a bad day and put in a B Grade performance they get beaten. An A Grade horse in Australia races against C,D,E Grade opposition. If they have a bad day and put in a B Grade performance they still win. That is the story of Winx.

Beating Highland Reel is a good performance but it doesn’t make you special. Winx was a great racehorse but she never ran against a really worthy opponent. You’re only guessing she could beat any horse in the world. She certainly could have won G1 races anywhere in the world but there are plenty of horses that would have beaten her or she would have struggled to beat. She was a great racehorse but she was an A Grader who spent their whole career in C Grade.

He raced the best in the world at those distances. If he’d travelled outside England to race on turf over 8-10f he would have been meeting worse horses than the ones he was already racing. The only case you could possibly make is that he could have run against Wise Dan. But which horse racing outside Britain was better than the horses he was racing against? None. Winx was not racing in the epicentre of 8-10f racing. If she’d travelled almost anywhere she would have met much better horses than she raced at home. That’s the difference dimwit.
