I find the kids shot preparation infuriating. Hope he doesn't continue arsing around like that.. up down.. up down.. looking at the angle of a basic shot 3 times. He'll be more boring than Selby. Hes a good talent, but currently unwatchable

Great player is Stan but I find him a hard watch. Too much looking at different shots and getting down for shots only to get back up again. Not knocking his ability though.

I actually like that, when players spend some time going through their options, what shots to play etc. Stan Moody doesn't seem like a very instinctive player (think Thepchaiya Un-Nooh or Ronnie O'Sullivan, they always know what to do 3-4 shots ahead)

He also suffers from the yips which the getting up and down off the shot is related too. He's also 17 and playing professional snooker so give the kid break eh

He’s 17 so you have to expect plenty more of them moments…. At the end of the day he’s a kid still but has massive potential. Potential is one thing but it is another thing to actually reach your full potential, hope the lads goes far 🤷‍♂️

Just because he's 17 doesn't give him the right to have all the worst habbits which puts opponents off. He's a terrible player for me, his shot selection is awful and what he does inbetween shots should be stopped. One of the most annoying players I've ever seen as the boy makes Alex Higgins look normal.

Stan is a huge talent for the future. However, at times he was lucky in this frame, such as when he lost his patience and smashed the reds to escape that snooker. He was lucky that Rod fouled the red in off the black, as this was a lifeline to help him win the match. If this hadn’t happened, I think Rod would have won the frame and made it 3-2. Still, it’s very good to see such young talent on the tour!!

He’s painful to watch but a good young talent. The constant walking around the table and relentless chalking must be irritating to watch while playing him. He came down to my local club down south a few times with his dad and he was clearly a good player but lost to one of the other young talents in the final. You could see he was gutted but it’s all good character building. There’s been many players who were predicted to do great things and never did so let’s see how he gets on.

He's not a good young talent, it just shows how bad the game is at the moment and Ronnie tried to warn us. This guy has some of the worst habbits |I've ever seen on a table, he makes Alex Higgins look normal ffs. His shot sellection is that of an amateur and the amount of things that he does before he takes a shot is enough to put someone in a straight jacket. I'd be complaining to the ref If I was playing him and I can't see how he gets away with it.
@dfstarborn

He's dreadful to watch with his tripple checking of obvious shots and his nervous ticks. How is this behaviour allowed in modern day snooker the beating of his shows on the floor too. Are their shoes miced up now? His shot selection is that of an amateur and I can't believe he's allowed on the circuit with his weird ticks. It's kind of like if Terry Griffiths was possessed by Alex Higgins then a new palyer would be born and his name would be Stan Moody.

When he’s in the mood he’s good to watch but I noticed a few times where he played up the table for a colour in balk when could have stayed on black, his shot to come back down table suffered , also he felt pressured to take on tough long shots when cue ball was on cushion and missed. That's like something a 12 year old would do, it seems to me he has some kind of condition like ADHD. He's not talented in my book he just pots balls but hasn't a clue about proper positioning. He's very amateurish and should be allowed on the circut until he learns how to play the game properly. He's very offputting so image what its' like for his oppoents to put up with his crap. I don't care how young he is, I think he's a dreadful player and bad for the game.

Yes, it's like he's not being coached at all and this sort of behavior around the table needs to be cut out. He needs to be taken away for 6 months to be shown how to conduct himself properly around the table. I can't believe he's allowed to act this way in 2023. He's tripple checking almost every shot, constant chalking of the cue and he runs around the table like a blue arse fly? It's like he's got ADHD or some medical illness like that. I'm just tryintg to imagine what it's like for the opponent to have to put up with this fidgetting nervousness round the table.

To be fair, he looked less stiff today. Good frame. Better than last match for sure. Might struggle against better opponents. However on his side, Hendry won the world champs at 21, and this lad is 17, so he does have potential to go big. Good luck to him. I think he would need to display more gears in his arsenal than what he has now, but it might 'click'. I don't think he is a natural, so can be off-putting to watch, then again the old grinder Thornburn won the world's and he was no natural. I remember watching him when he won it, and he grinded every ball. Sheer determination and a good mathematician. Many ways to skin a cat.
