For a very long time the 2014 Gorge 50k was my favorite Ginger runner film. But not anymore, it's this one. What a great movie! Great shots, great story, great people. I don't know Gary but based on this film alone I think he's incredible. Going for the FKT is hard as it is but then to have the heart to share the experience with his friends by taking them along (and dropping them) shows he has a great heart. Ethan, Jeff great stuff. Gary you are the best!

When I met Gary for the first time I felt a special kind of energy around him. After watching this documentary, it confirmed one thing: it's not about his aura, it's just the way he is: connected to nature with a real passion to run and experiment life at the fullest. It's always hard to describe how you feel when you run because it is a very intimate, personal moment. Gary + Ginger Runner have done amazing work here. This clip is not about competing, it is a very deep storytelling about a human being in quest of his own journey, an exciting challenge that he set himself and shared to his friends (and the rest of us !). Thank you for sharing this experience with us. If you could receive an award, it would be WELL DESERVED ! Gary: awesome focus and discipline. You can truly see authentic, genuine love of the act of running, his pure connection to nature and people around him. Love it. Thomas who loves getting lost in all your races...

Just watched this for the ?th time. Nothing beats GingerRunner videos for inspiration. GR lets the story tell itself rather than cheating with voice overs (Robert McKee lecture from "Adaptation" GR?). Great editing. After the near pissing scene, I cringed at the "Gary dropped his Pacers" message but thank God Ethan wisely edited it out. Better left to our imagination. I also appreciate the underlying sense of humor in everything GR does. Humanizes the work and makes the stories flow. Gary shows the same good humor. Strong character. His reaction to discovering the book "Six Seconds" in the Barkley 100 after missing the cut-off in the prior year by 6 seconds was fantastic. (different video though). Six seconds that elevated Gary to immortality. Anyway, I just turned 65 and after giving up on BQing 30 years ago, I thought I'd give it a belated shot for 2019. Looks doubtful for 2019 but pretty good for 2020. You never know.... So I keep coming back to this video. Great kick in the ass. Shames me into keepin' on when I get frustrated. Classic.
