Thanks for your videos. We can almost imagine we're there in these beautiful places!

After finding your channel just earlier this evening I scrolled and (lucky for me) found you had indeed uploaded another video that might help me with yet another trip I'm planning for this summer...into Miter Basin. My wife and I both recently read Kim Stanley Robinson's "The High Sierra - A Love Story" (me after dragging my feet on the book as I've been backpacking in the Sierra for 30+ years) but it was a joy and has re-inspired me to look for places I've missed. So suddenly Miter Basin was on my list (as well as Bear Lakes Basin!) and the fun research has ensued. Sorry your trip in Miter ended early with your wife's injury. But thanks for your posts. I'll be enjoying more of them soon I'm sure. :)

Glad you enjoyed this one. Kim Stanley Robinson's book is definitely a joy to read. It added an additional layer of interest and intrigue to many of the places I've been. I hope this video did justice to the beauty on the way into Miter Basin. Sorry I wasn't able to share too much around the area. Next time. Also, I appreciate your concern for my wife's wrist... all healed now and I'm back on the trail. In fact, I just returned from Jennie Lakes Wilderness. The snow isn't bad so far this year.

It's a special place. It was a blessing in disguise that I wasn't feeling well and backed out given my wife breaking her wrist. And, well, I've already been up on Pickering anyway. I was thinking doing the loop into Crabtree Lakes but now you have me thinking looping to Trail Crest and down.

I so enjoy your choice of trips! Thank you for taking the time to video them for us. I'm compiling a wish list for next year and am including the Miter along with a few of your other sojourns. Your sense of reverence for the Sierra comes through. Have you read "The High Sierra: A Love Story" by Kim Stanley Robinson? He describes some interesting backpack routes which I've also added to my now ever growing list. Hope your wife will be OK.

Thank you so much for your kind message. I'm glad my love for the Sierra comes through. It's my home..at least that's how I feel when I'm there. I have read the book you're mentioning. His early trips remind me of my own although he's far more insightful about the geology and the history of the place. But his experiences are such a joy to read. Great book!!!
