My wife and I love this game and have only played at 2 player so far. We thought it worked well. We were fortunate enough to find a second hand deluxe edition and it's really amazing, but the retail version still keeps all the great artwork and theme. If I had that one, I would absolutely use coin protectors for the chips, I think that would help give them a closer feel to the deluxe ones and keep the cardboard from being damaged by constant handling.

A great call on the coin capsules. We did it for Quacks and it made a world of difference.

It really can. Another great option is the Paolo Mori 20 Minutes series of Blitzkreig! and Caesar!, they are both really terrificly smart. And affordable.

Absolutely love this game! I've only played on TTS thus far so I'm eager to play with my physical copy. Glad to hear two players is a viable player count and still fun! Now just gotta convince my wife to play lol

Great review. I’m on the fence with this one as I’ve already got quacks With all the upgrades. How long does a two player game of this run in your experience?

We take about 90 minutes for two, but it could run a bit in either direction of that. It is a lot different than quacks. There is definitely room for both in a collection. I'd also get Orleans too and finish out the holy trinity of bag builders.
