Dynasty Warriors 9 has the animation that's improved. Lotsa things that improved from graphics to the redesigned looks on the characters. The KOEI Tecmo team's made lotsa progress, leadin' to the Dynasty Warriors 9 game (w/ DLC) AND the Samurai warriors 5 w/ Oda Nobunaga plus Akechi Mitsuhide in the main spotlight (chronologically before Miyamoto Musashi). It'd be great to have a Hyrule Warriors sequel w/ left-handed Link (Link the Hero o' Twilight) as the main protag, Zelda as the deuteragonist, and the Dark Lord Ganondorf (same dude in Twilight Princess) as the final boss (fer the last time).

I agree....Shi is a really good guy who has had enough of the other kingdom's pointless grudges. Both Shi and Zhao are heroes to me. Wei had always gone downhill after the death of Cao Rui. Were it not for the Sima clan, it probably would have taken MUCH....MUCH longer to unify the land.

I think Three Kingdom ( 220 - 280) period is a very boring timeline ( every kingdom only have one generation of emperor is the skillfull emperor - the first emperor of every kingdom: Cao Pi, Liu Bei and Sun Quan. After them, all other emperor only a puppet and useless). But Luo writed his novel from 184 instead 220, and that made the story is more excited. Sadly, but until now, everyone who love or know about Three Kingdom almost only focus into the timeline between 184-220 ( Ending of Han dynasty) more than 220-280 ( the real Three Kingdom period).

+Xie Peng " Romance of the Three Kingdoms" novel is too famous. That is why everyone who write about Three Kingdom period will take 184 ( Yellow Turban rebellion) as their beginning. But actually, the real Three Kingdom period is from 220-280. In Luo GuanZhong's novel, he ended his novel in 234 ( when Kongming died) and use last 15 chapter to summary 50 years of the Three Kingdom period. We can say that, when Kongming died, Three Kingdom period have just begun. That is why, although very many film/ comic/ novel talk about Three Kingdoms, all of them actually talk about " Ending of Han dynasty period ( 184-220)" more than real " Three Kingdoms period ( 220-280).

Sadly Jiang Wei discarded his honor and used treachery to have Deng Ai killed after Deng Ai conquered Shu. The guy sent to kill Deng Ai could have spared him but he knew if Deng Ai was released he would reveal how stupid everyone was for falling into Jiang Wei's ploy thus costing them prestige and position if not their deaths. So they killed Deng Ai when he was bound to prevent his retribution.

In the novel, I never got Sima Shi that much. Hated Zhao, but Shi puzzled me. Seeing him in the game, however, and then going back and re-reading the material has really helped bring him to life for me. He was a good guy, but he didn't allow himself to be seen that way. Wei didn't need a kind ruler at that time - it needed one who was willing to be ruthless, who could bring it back to the power it enjoyed before Cai Rui started it on the road to decline. Shi couldn't let himself be nice.

sima yi- took control of the kingdom but refuse to accept himself as the emperor sima shi- massacred the entire xiahou family, killed the empress, disposed the emperor, but refuse to kill the emperor and name himself the new one sima zhao- killed the emperor, cao mao, took the tiele "king of jin" but refuse to accept himself as emperor sima yan- did almost everything from his elders combined plus becoming the emperor, destroying wei once and for all

Did anyone ever think as the mind of Liu Shan, not Chan! It's Shan! He probably saw that Shu was crumbling and decided to let Wei take over so he could save his people! When Jiang Wei and Zhang Hui staged a rebellion, Liu Shan killed Jiang Wei for imprisoning his friends and causing even more chaos! Liu Shan, in his own way, is a hero.

You know... after hearing much about him, I think he's not really idiotic. The guy was just surrounded and influenced by corrupt people at an early age. Had he been made emperor when he aged and became wiser and less corruptible, Shu probably would've lasted longer. Shu's downfall was due to a combination of things. And the corruptness in the Shu government was one of those things.

Yea, the earlier kingdoms are more epic than the later kingdoms. In the later periods, there's a shortage of unique generals. In Wu, the ONLY people that they have in the later periods that are worth of importance are Ding Feng and Lu Kang(FYI, he's Lu Xun's son). In Wei, Guo Huai, Xiahou Mao, Zhong Hui, and Deng Ai. In Shu, Jiang Wei and Liao Hua.

Zhuge Liang was a loyal, good man. Liu Shan was an idiot, but Zhuge Liang's loyalty to Liu Bei stopped him from going against Liu Shan, although Liu Bei told him to take over Shu if the boy was a poor ruler. Zhuge Liang kept his sentiments towards Liu Bei too close to his heart...

Jiang Wei was a bad politician and he weakened Shu with his constant failed Northern Campaigns. If he had half the brains of Jiang Wan he would have exposed Huang Hao and had him removed. Luo Xian had the balls to challenge Huang Hao and for that he was sent to watch the border between Shu and Wu as his "reward" because Jiang Wei and co. didn't back him. When Shu falls he defeats Wu's invasion force and Wu's legendary Lu Kang and defects to Jin after he's sure Liu Shan is safe.

Sima Shi was ill and had surgery, however he refused to sit on the sidelines when a rebellion occurred. In what should have been an easy victory Sima Shi was horrified to learn that a lone warrior, Wen Yang, had massacred hundreds of his Generals and made a mockery of his vast army. To add further insult to injury Wen Yang nearly reached Sima Shi multiple times in the battle and that he would later retreat mostly unharmed after he grew tired. This stress worsened his condition.

Not really, I always considered Shi in this game a good guy, who's fed up with the other Kingdoms incompetences, and their stupid pointless grudges that are destroying their country. What Shi represents, is wasted potential, he had so much potential so many dreams, so much he had to do but then fate snatched him away, before he could bring peace to the land, leaving his work to his brother, Zhao. If a guy talks like a villain, doesn't mean he is one. I actually think Shi is a hero in this game.

Ginny Sarina It was actually a test to see if Liu Shan was an issue. Liu Shan still carried the name of the Han, he was a political liability by having him in the capital or anywhere. He wanted to see if he would react, and when he didn't, he was deemed not a threat to the Sima clan or the future Jin Dynasty. Liu Shan was very smart by acting naive and uncaring to save himself from death.

Seeing how they forced Xiahou Ba into Jin, when he defects near the start of the story to Shu, doesn't give me much hope that we'll get real Jin or Late Era Wu adds for awhile.

Sima Yi lived a very long time and did many great things. Sima Shi was ill and had a mole removed, due to Wen Yang making a mockery of the Jin army, all by himself, it worsened his condition and his wound reopened before it could heal. Thus Sima Shi soon died. Sima Zhao suffered an unknown illness and he died right after Shu fell. It's like the genius brothers were cursed to accomplish great things than die before they could realize their ambitions.

it's the wisest decision i suppose. shu is technically weak after liu bei's and zhuge liang's death (along with the others) and wei just kept on getting stronger and stronger with sima clan's rule. If they keep on resisting, more people would die and it would be in vain because eventually, Wei would be victorious. Afterall, Liu Shan is right, they are fighting for dead man's dream and refused have their own's.

Liu Shan knew that he couldn't win the war and if he resisted more people would die and so would he. So he surrendered and gave up everything, Shu's people ended up merging into Wei/Jin just fine afterwards.

@Asterisk2011 Well Liu Shan was nearly 60 when Shu collapsed. So really he was already pretty old; it was just his laziness and foolishness that caused it. Huang Hao did play a part in influencing Liu Shan though. Plus not to mention Jiang Wei's continued failed expeditions on Wei that were draining Shu's resources and exhausting all the men.

...I hope you are kidding. Jiang Wei himself removed the best defenses Shu had because he wanted a big battle on open ground. Against an opponent that bested him again and again. You can't blame Shu's fall on Liu Chan in any other way than that he let Jiang Wei do essentially everything he wanted with the army.

@MrMarioSonicfan ahhh you don't know the history that well i guess. during hu lao gate. lubu was accepting challenges from the allied forces and pretty killed anyone who stood in his way. I think it was when gongzan sun was about to get destroyed as well that zhang fei stepped in.it was pretty epic since all the big names got destroyed and no one expected much from zhang fei they fought to a draw. and guan yu joined in but it was still a draw, then liu bei joined in and lu bu was defeated.
