Wonderwash review/how to

I got mine here: www.amazon.com...
I forgot to mention: it comes with instructions re how much water/soap to add depending on the load size. And I like to add a kettle of near-boiling water because my sink water doesn't get very hot. If you have hot water straight from the faucet, you probably don't need to do that bit! I also put my drain on upside-down because my poor old sink can't keep up with the water flow if I put it on the "right" way.

You should mimic an electric washer. Swish the clothes and let them sit and soak in your detergent. Then swish the clothes again. It can help with the stains that aren’t coming out.

Yes. You get more effective use of the detergent when you let it soak and then agitate.

I used this video to convince my mom to get one! I love it. We don't have the counter space so I bought a rolling two tiered shelf to keep it on to roll into the bathroom and it has space to store my soap and bleach.

I keep mine in the bathtub. It’s easier to drain and refill because I don’t use the drain hose it’s too slow. I just wash then open then turn it upside down to drain it and rinse

Great tutorial, thank you! This machine is great for athletic fabrics like under armor/Nike cool gear etc, which don’t seem to “smell clean” after a traditional wash. I feel my workout clothes can make my other clothes “dirtier” when washed together in a huge washer.

@@TheMarilynme I do! I actually love it. I do have a regular washing machine but don’t use it as often. I like to go green as possible. The only con is just turning it for 2 min. It can get tiring. When you take your clothes out they are soaking wet btw. I have a patio so I let my clothes out there in the shade. If you don’t have one just a place that has tile such as a bathroom or kitchen just to prevent any mold that can happen on a carpet. I’m also pretty surprised how clean my clothes came out. When I cleaned them the first time I had to wash mine a lot longer than the woman in the video did because the water was pretty murky. Also, if you have a stain on clothes depending on how bad I would pre treat it and then put it in wonderwash. Most times I just put my clothes in the wonder wash without pre treatment and it cleans my clothes rly good. :)
@klutzycutie
@klutzycutie 3 жыл бұрын
@@TheMarilynme sry for the long reply. I didn’t say how to use it in my last post. It comes with an instructions on how to. It’s basically putting a certain amount of clothes up to about halfway. Then adding warm or cold water (cold water may require longer) then adding a small amount of soap. I will measure mine on a literal spoon and drop it in. It’s just a small amount. Then you turn it for up to 2 min sometimes 3. I usually turn mine one way and then reverse it the opposite lIke a regular washing machine. For both washing and rinsing and that’s it. Literally can take 6 min in total of washing. Then drying takes longer but the washing is very fast.

A lot of that isn't really dirt it's dye from the clothes. With clothes especially darks they leak dye into every wash, people mistake the color of the water for dirt, but dirty water from clothes doesn't appear black it appears brownish. The color of your water indicates dye, yeah maybe a small portion might be dirt but it's mostly dye.

I had one of these and the spin dryer of the same brand before I moved. It’s really hard work when you don’t have very many options, I totally understand. When I washed my clothes in the spin washer I wouldn’t use the drain and let it slowly drain out. I had to set it in the tiny tub I had and wring out the clothes and set them in the spin dryer. Then I would just turn it over and drain it out and clean it. I just didn’t have the counter space. It’s recommended to slowly spin it each direction for five minutes, but I would let it rest for a minute in between directions to let the clothes soak and give my arm a rest. Also I noticed if you use super hot water it tends to strengthen the vacuum lock, and the vacuum will (quite) violently release when you lift the lever. So just a warning for anyone wanting to get one of the washers, since it is loud when this happens.
@Survivin2Thrivin
@Survivin2Thrivin 9 ай бұрын
Someone (elsewhere) said they attributed the "vacuum seal" lid effect from the hose placement? I think I got it right. At this point I've watched so many vids & read so many comments that it's all blurred together. Long day. Well, if I can find what I read then I'll try to come back to share. Meanwhile, if you get a chance, may want to see if attaching drain after tightening lid helps with the lid issue.

Thanks so, so much for this! Because of quarantine, getting quarters for apartment laundry is problematic. Also, as an at-risk person for complications with covid-19, I'm hoping to avoid points of contact with neighbours, just as a precaution, so I'm looking forward to getting this, now that I've seen it work. I would say, two minutes maybe isn't long enough for some things. If you consider a consumer-level washing machine in the US agitates for about 12-15 minutes, one would probably better remove heavier soil, such as mascara, if crank it longer. I honestly won't mind the work-out! (In fact, I need it after being cooped up for months.) I'm going to pair this washer with a Panda 3200 rpm electric spinner, which will wring the water out better than by hand. These two items together will be about $226. Coin-operated laundry costs me about $600/year. So that's another great reason to get these. ^^

Our washer and dryer both broke down during the quarantine. We were not going to buy a new set, and we didn't want a repairman coming to our house. Necessity was the mother of invention. We had a couple of 31-gallon plastic and a couple of 18-gallon storage bins that were used in our move from CA to TN. We also had a plumbing plunger that we bought for $1 at Dollar Tree, but luckily had not needed. We set up the 4 storage bins in our greenhouse and washed our clothes thusly. 1. The washing bin with detergent, washing soda, borax, and a color safe oxygen additive. We eventually began making our own laundry detergent that we saw on Wellness Mama. 2. A first rinse bin that had vinegar and an essential oil of our choice. So far, we've used spearmint, peppermint, lavender, and orange oils in the rinse. The vinegar acts as a softener so the clothes don't come out feeling like cardboard. 3. A final rinse of cool water only. 4. A depository for the clothes to be placed on the drying ropes. We used paracord to string across the greenhouse from one end to the other. The greenhouse is humid, but it gets over 100° when the sun is out, and with the circulation fans, they dry in about 90 minutes. We don't know how this will work in the Winter, but we have noticed our clothes actually look and smell cleaner than they were before.

@@ericamassey1354 I think he's talking about 2:28. Not 2:45. Have a look at this kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3Kmq4yHfaeGb8U. You see when the clothes (boxes) fall from the top and hit the bottom? That impact is what is doing the cleaning. Basically the dirt is being beaten off. Notice at 4:52 when it's spinning faster how the boxes stay stuck to the wall? No impact, so no cleaning is taking place.

It’s probably way too late now, but if you got a flat sheet of plexiglass or something like a laminate that could fit on your countertop and wider then the suction cup feet, the weight and the backsplash would prevent the machine from tipping if you did this on top of the countertop. Store the plexiglass or laminate against a wall or counter. A giant cutting board would work and you can use it as a cutting board. A restaurant size cutting board.
