★★★ *FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE VIDEO / FACT UPDATES* ★★★ *1) Why did you use CGI footage at **15:56** and not original model footage* - I tried getting original footage, but all Star Wars films on streaming platforms are protected, I could not even screen capture the footage, it comes out blank. So I used what I could find on KZbin, since it's only a few seconds of footage to highlight a point in the narration, so it falls under fair use, but I could not get original model footage.

*_There is also another one that is very accurate. It was scratch built by a professional model maker in Norway in the late '90's maybe very early 2000's. It's over 6 feet long_*
@BerryTheBnnuy3 жыл бұрын
On a drive somewhere in my home, I have digitized HD footage of the original trilogy that while not all of it is directly derived from them is completely screen accurate to the original theatrical releases of the original trilogy. This even means the first movie in the original trilogy not claiming to be "Episode IV: A New Hope" but rather the crawl suggests it's a stand-alone film. It's not hard to find these copies on the internet if you know how to shiver your timbers and know that the correct search term is "despecialized edition." Last I heard a 4K version was being worked on. It might be out by now. The copies I have are just standard HD because I don't have much of a use for 4K since the geometric increase in pixels isn't worth the almost imperceptible increase in visual fidelity from the screen viewing positions in my home.

I have met Sean in person on several occasions and he is one of the greats. Not just for his skill and eye for detail, but also for his attitude and positive personality. We all have our individual project obsessions and it is incredibly cool to meet people like Sean and bounce both secrets and ideas off of one another. And Sean has done many other models, such as his studio scale Cylon Basestar, Galactica laser turret mounts and I believe even a Galactica itself.

I had a chance to work with our image analysis patriots while I was in the Air Force and your videos are very close to what those folks do. Wow, I am amazed and impressed at your skill to nail down these locations. Thank you for your work. These are not just pop culture videos, this is our art history. My intro to A Clockwork Orange was through Sigue Sigue Sputnik. I remember the moment exactly. I was sleeping on the couch at home and their video came on MTV in the 80's and it blew my balls off. I got the album and my weird stepfather listened to it and told me the samples they were using were from a movie called Clockwork Orange. I asked for the movie on VHS for Christmas and my parents bought it for me, they didn't know any better at that time. I was way too young to be watching that movie but I was the coolest kid among my skate friends because I had a VHS of a Clockwork Orange. Thank you.

Wow. Just speechless. Guess you know now more than the builders on set.... I guess they just took some parts randomly. Decent work. and it shows the level of detail of model building which was very unique in the 70's... that was key for the success of Star Wars. Just compare it to other scifi movies of that time.
