Yes. Maybe a little fast, but I liked the way he took over in the first bar... although it did make the band itself seem a little slow... Great to listen to. Thnx to all you dedicated musicians. Well done "Cobby".

I agree that the band was 'dawdling' at the beginning until he brought them into line.

Really do not understand why this has so few views! Excellent job! Am practicing this and Clear Skies myself currently. (Ex The Hendon Band and Scots Guards Band)

A brilliant musician definitely from the Maurice Murphy school, musicality before fireworks. Of course the fireworks are there but so is technique and line. What age is Philip in this video? It's amazing when you listen to the London Symphony Orchestra today, it's almost like Maurice is still there but then Philip adds his very own imprint. Bravo!

Apart from band and soloist at differing tempos at the intro it was a great performance.

How old was he there?

The band needs lessns on how to accompany a soloist. They were far too loud in places.

And I need spelling 'lessons'.

Brilliantly played but I have heard better interpretations which I admit is a personal subjective opinion.

I prefer Lester Hartford's version. I think Philip's version is too fast and mechanical whereas I think Lester's has more character.
