A another brilliant tutorial from the web guru Nayyar regarding shipping. One thing I will mention is that using linear algebra can be used to create a formula if your pricing is "banded" (which a lot of postal services do) and you need to account for the packaging. Note: this only works if you have a linear relationship between the price and the quantity e.g. 1 product => 120 rupees 2 products => 150 rupees 3 products => 180 rupees Using y=mx+c y = price m = gradient x = qty value c = y-intercept Thus the above would be: 120 = m1 + c 150 = m2 + c 180 = m3 + c To solve for m (we'll use the last example from above): (gradient): {difference in y-values} / {difference in x values} m = (180 - 120) / (3 -1) => (60/2) = 30 Thus 180 = (30*3) + c => 180 = 90 + c So now solve for c: 180 - 90 = c c = 90 So the final linear algebra formula is: y = 30x + 90 Which would translate into the WooCommerce equation: 30 * [qty] + 90 Nayyar, perhaps it would be best if you demo'ed this in one of your videos ;-)

Hello Nice video!! question....I have shipping (local deliveries) methods by zip codes in the USA, however now i want to sell specific products nationwide without conflicting my local deliveries by zip codes....for example i sale X product with a local delivery address for $18 but somebody else wants to ship it out state the flat will be $25..now a created the shipping method nationwide for the X products and it only shows the nationwide rate even if you input a local zip code that suppose to be cheaper. thanks

Hello, Great tutorial, thanks. I have watched a lot of videos (including this one) explaining about using shipping options in woocommerce but I could not find an answer to my problem. I have built an online shop selling different goods. I ship to 5 countries, 2 of those countries I ship for free and the other 3 countries I charge a flat rate. I have set 2-3 shipping class options based on specific product types. In the 'Flat rate Settings' I have chosen the 'Per Class' option for the 'Calculation Type'. When I run a test and pick two products each with different shipping class, the cart shows only the more expensive shipping rate. What could be wrong ? Also, I have a product that I give for free and the customer needs to pay only for the shipping (free+shipping), If a customer chose this product with one or more other products and he lives in one of the 3 countries where I charge a shipping fee, the shipping fee for the free product is not added to the total shipping flat rate. Thanks a lot, appreciate your help Aiman P.S. There is a different problem beside the above one. When I run the test when I'm logged out of my store, and test it as a buyer, no shipping rates appear in the cart.

Hey there, do you know how to set up this plugin, if you want free shipping with different subtotals for different countries? My plugin only works for one country. I made more conditions for EU and non EU. There I put all the contries inside a group with the order subtotal. But I have the feeling it doesnt want to work and only the default shipping costs will be shown.

Question on the Flexible Shipping plugin. The conditions set in the plugin apply equally to all shipping regions or can it be changed based on region? Basically what I am trying to ask here let's say I have 2 shipping regions, USA and The Rest of the World. For USA I want to charge $2 for items between 0 - 500 g, but for the The Rest of the World region I want to charge $5 for items between 0 - 500 g.

Hello there. the instruction at 8.30 is not working for me. If I cut details from flat rate cost and then paste it to "no shipping class cost" then no shipping charge is applied for that zone. In fact I cannot get shipping classes to do anything at all outside my own region where I am able to name the class in each variable of the product. I have 4 different sizes of each of my products, but can only apply shipping classes to a single zone which is the one defined in the product. How do I get around this problem, because I cannot find any tutorial that deals with this limitation.
