I remember 'Kidbits'. I am not from Detroit, but I did pick up the NBC feed from Detroit in Canada during the 1980s and into the 1990s. The endless vocal loop used as the theme along with the older public service announcements from the 1970s and early 1980s really drew me to the show. Definitely worth waking up to on Saturday mornings before the cartoons came on.
@jeremyrich9861 Жыл бұрын
YES! Gary Ed Mach was the host. It was a good Saturday morning when you woke up to this theme! No school and no cartoons missed!

@@MarkNF82 Yep, originally WDIV played these five days a week at 6:55AM so kids could see these before school, but was later changed to a Saturday morning program, originally tied to Warner Bros. cartoons they played them between before becoming a half-hour series that was played for over a decade.

Somewhat dry and very informative-definitely more charisma than Ted Koppel. It was what you watched (WDIV-channel 4-the most Detroit-orinted station of the big 3 VHF stations) on Saturday mornings waiting for that huge cartoons block to kick in...that or Capt. Kangaroo or the Little Rascals.

I’m just happy I know who the group is performing it. I know this is a cover of Ronnie Laws classic hit. Also if you’re here jamming to this song and of a certain age and this sounds super familiar, you may have possibly grown up in Detroit in the 80s and 90s, as this song was used as the intro to a kid’s science TV show called “Kidbits”. It aired usually at 7:30 am on Saturday mornings on our local NBC affiliate

@MrMallymal68 @1974 - This is how music inspires people to reflect in their own interpretation. There's a simple message and its spread in so many ways. I'm hooked on Ronnie when I'm mellow but need a groove to boost me though with Wood, Brass and Steel. updated vibe with Incognito and plenty others who deserve a pat on the back for keeping this jam alive.
