Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday! I hope you enjoy the new wood burning episode! Let me know if you'd prefer to watch new videos on Wednesday or Friday?? #WoodBurningWednesday could be a thing maybe?! As much as I've missed you all, I'm going to take the rest of this week / weekend to create new videos for the upcoming weeks. So, there will NOT be another new video this Friday. Thank you so much for watching! See you next week! ♥︎ Sarah

Honestly I like mid-week vids. Instead of waiting for the weekend (which usually I am not on the comp as much by then), it's always nice to see new uploads throughout the week from the youtubers I watch Idk though, curious to see how this turned out compared to your normal time!

Love this dragonfly... probably my favorite so far, I did really like the multicolored rose also. No need to add lines I think it could end up overkill, and take away from the dragonfly and the other background blocks. It's awesome just as it is. I would like to see the final effect if you put a sealer on it... just a picture of the unsealed and then sealed, to see if it brightens the colors or changes the look in any way. Keep up the great work, and to those who say, "don't do wood burning because you don't have a wood burner" then either don't watch it, or purchase one on Amazon, they are less than $15 to start out with numerous tips and they are pretty cool tool to own! Use your God given talent to teach others and give us reason to tap into our own talents! Blessings a fan n subbie, Marcella K xoxo

I like the idea of a Wednesday upload day but that’s because I follow so many Friday posters now already. I would like to see a full piece done in the wood-burning only without the color or paint. Also maybe using Balsa Wood? Those painting panels are made from hardwood so whether it is Elm or oak they are very hard to burn in. Also if you use the stamp tip burner for your background design it might go quicker, at least easier for sure. I don’t think you should color the other or fill in the other areas with stripes give your eyes a chance to rest. Thanks again for the lovely video I am looking forward to more!

I use an instant coffee "stain". Just dump a bit of instant coffee + water, and then mix them together. You need to finish it but it doesn't smell like death anyhow! (Friends have kids and cats who put things in their mouths.) I love making "stash boxes" for people.

From a viewer pov, fri being a popular upload day (at least with who i follow) results in a nice binge of new content. But i have no idea how that relates to the algorithm getting stuff out there, so from a business pov, changing/adding days might be something to think about. Other jobs worry about competition, getting stuff out before each other bc $. So either day is nice from my viewer pov. Just dont burn yourself out (i say in a wood burning vid...pun? Ish...). Lovely work. Would puffy paint or someother textured medium give that texture you wanted without the hours of work? Would (Wood...ha)love to see more wood burning works.

Sarah, Sketching and designing for wood burning is much easier if you sketch on a separate sheet of paper then use carbon paper to transfer the design onto the wood. Also, be careful not to touch the wood too often with your hands, this causes oil transfer and can cause a burnout. you can always use an alcohol wipe to remove oils prior to burning. Just allow the wood to dry completely before burning into it. Safety...lol Oh and AVOID CEDAR and Pine with sap. Take a good 20 minute break after each hour to prevent wrist and hand pain.

Gee, Sarah, you were in Oregon and didn’t even swing by to say hi. I’m so disappointed. 🙂 Hope you enjoyed your trip. I’ve seen some of your instagram posts, pics were great. I love this dragonfly! I hope you decide not to fill in the other sections - I think the blank ones highlight the others, if you filled in the blank sections, I think it would detract from what is already there. I am amazed at how much control you did achieve with the wood burner. I haven’t tried one in years, but I remember how difficult it was to control the lines I tried to make. I like how you combined the paint with burning. The dragonfly is so well executed and is so you! Just your colors. 🙂 Anyway, really love the finished art and love the video. I would watch your videos any day of the week. Multiple times during the week. I know the KZbin algorithm has made it difficult for creators to keep their views and subscriptions up, but I hope you continue to make videos of what you like. You do what works for you! Thanks Sarah for all you share.
