In this video, Damien Devereux has a go at attaching the bitumen roofing sheets to the kiln shed. With him being blind, it's a bit of a challenge.

You did very well. A lovely job. I have taken note how you did it. I have been looking on other KZbin channels and they do not show a person on the roof. Now I know how it is done. Excelent job. I have a eyesight condition as I do not have Binocular vision from birth. I am also frightened of Heights. Even at shed height. I had my felt put on by a friend. it has ripped half off due to the winds we have had in South Derbyshire, In England. Have a lovely day and all the best Ron.

Some people do, but then you are heavily relying on there being a good seal in the gully as that is where all the water will be pooling up and running down. It would also add something for leaf debris to start building up on and possibly block the gully. My granddad has this problem with his roof.

Awesome job..... How do you find the quality of these sheets, I've read some bad reviews on them that they break in the wind ect.

Well they have survived several storms in the middle of a field; however, I did put more screws in than recommended to properly secure them. I personally think that they're fine. I haven't had a problem with them yet.

Good tips in this! I'm just about to do a roof like this. Can I ask you? Did you buy screws that were the same brand as the bitumen sheets? I want to use 100mm long screws and fit 25mm insulation panels between the bitumen and my wooden panelled roof but the sheet brands seem to only supply 65mm screws. Thanks,

Sorry for the late response KZbin turned off my activity notifications for some reason. No I did not buy the same brand. I shopped around to find the best value I could at the time. The roofing sheets were from Wickes and the self-cutting roofing screws were from Toolstation I believe. Tradefixdirect.com seem really good value for quite a lot of things at the moment of writing. Probably too late but I hope this helps you or someone else at the very least.

@@VisionlessDesigns Yes, just finished my roof. hehe but thanks anyway. my concern was that the textured finished of the sheets was only compatible with the same brand's fixings. I got some unbranded screws with those caps that fold over and clip shut to cover the screw heads and they worked just fine.

what's that roof material are made from ?. and what its brand name ?

The roofing sheets are made from bitumen so they are softer and more flexible than PVC roofing sheets, but as a result are less brittle. I got them from Wickes.
