Hi Euan, Yes, Rob Biss is a very skilled craftsman and a nice guy to boot. His output from the sawmill over a day is massive. All the best, Martin

Hi Martin nice video, nice to see you are using drone camera
@MartinHealy3 жыл бұрын
Hi Pratik, Yes, I have been flying the drone for about 4 years now. I thought that I could add a few shots to show the scene in which the sawmill is operating. The problem was that it was a gusty strong wind and flying the drone smoothly and slowly was impossible. All the best, Martin

Looks like that was down the side of the cemetery - did anyone count the growth rings - I left in ‘64!!
@MartinHealy Жыл бұрын
Hi Tony, The cedars being milled in this video actually grew just to the east of the Mansion House next to The Bridleway. I felled 2 of them after they were storm damaged. I didn't count the rings but will try to do so on the stumps when I am back in that garden. If you are interested in looking at the Estate as it is today then search through my channel and you will find dozens of 4K videos shot from a drone. All the best, Martin

@@MartinHealy Thanks Martin - I am indeed watching those drone videos and wonderful they are! The connection between the boat building operation and the trees is explained now that you have identified them as cedar … The transition from the Peak family through Allhallows to Rousdon Estates is quite interesting and your inputs help make it understandable and come to life There were some aspects of the school in my day, 59-64, that were quite repressive and stultifying and I do believe that the many pupils who have “done well in life” are down to their particular efforts rather than the ethos of the school … others may have different mileage! Please keep the props spinning and the videos coming …

Hello Martin, very interesting to see the wood work close up, machinery gets the job done quick and fast ! I'm sorry we didn't meet in person as we were meant to of but had to delay the camping holiday by a few days as the campsite we was staying on was a swamp, I'm sure we will meet one day, maybe at the Colyton tractor run ? I captured a New Holland T72010 collecting up grass ( silage) and followed by a week later another New Holland make cutting the grass ready for the camping club rally. Worth having a look. All the best, stay safe. ( Bradley) :)

Hi Bradley, Sorry that your holiday didn't go exactly as planned but from your videos it looks like you made the best of it. If the tractor run goes ahead then I will try to get some video from the drone. All the best, Martin

Well, can never be sure when disruption happens, it just comes from all of a sudden without knowing ! But I did enjoy my holiday down in East Devon, a beautiful part of the West Country, gorgeous scenery, views and acres of land for miles. Had lovely weather with clear blue sky most days and now the weather has changed ! typical British Weather, but can't moan I suppose, natural rain is very good for the plants, grass and wildlife, when I returned home, the garden was bone dry !! I'm afraid to say, it is very uncertain about the Colyton Tractor returning, could be next year ( 2022) or possibly 2023 !!! I hope the tractor run can go ahead next year as part of the Queens Platinum

Nice mill, power supply is in the truck? Cool video
@MartinHealy3 жыл бұрын
Hi Craig, Yes, the load bay in the back of the Land Rover Defender houses a diesel genset. The Defender is heavily customised with a bored out engine providing additional horse power, to cope with the demands of towing the mill, pull uprated suspension etc. All in all an outstanding rig that can produce a huge amount of cut boards in a day. All the best, Martin

Hey Martin, we don't see that kind of a set up here in the states. Very cool to say the least, I run a lt40 wide 38 horse Koller. I will be looking for more of your work for sure. Safe sawing brother, keep them coming 🌳🌲🧡🧡🧡🙋👍👌

@@thekiltedsawyer Hi Craig, I am just the monkey on the camera - the owner and operator of the mill Rob Biss is a Devon, UK, shipwright. He specified the custom build of this mill which involved I believe a couple of European Woodmizer dealerships and it was a long drawn out purchase. The wireless remote control is a brilliant accessory. He added the air compressor and the table extension and both are useful upgrades. This is the second visit by the mill to where I live. I felled some of the timber that went through the mill and I really enjoyed working on the off loading of the boards from this awesome machine. Here is a link to Part 1 of the earlier visit in 2019: kzbin.info/www/bejne/laXce5-il9Sibck All the best for the New Year - stay safe. Martin
