Oh, Iliana, I love this one!! I have started to remove my background stamps from the blocks...thanks for this great video! Just love my MISTI! Thanks and hugs!

I accidently hit a reply/comment button and left a reply to someone who probably won't understand it, sorry. So I'm repeating it here where I meant it to be! Thanks for sharing how to convert a wood mount stamp to a cling stamp. I have some that I will definitely convert! By the way, your cutting mat is from Creative Memories, not Close to My Heart. I have 2 of them. I love and use them a lot!

Thanks for this! I'm planning to get a MISTI and was afraid I'd neglect my favorite wood mounted background stamps since the MISTI way is SO much better for perfectionists than the "paper to stamp with scratch paper" method. Now I know I'll use those stamps even more since I won't get so frustrated with trying to obtain a good image.

Carol Melancon I have unmounted my favorite stamps. If I get lazy and decide not to, I regret it and then unmount them.

Thank you for such a terrific explanation/demonstration as I've got quite a few wood mounted stamps that I'd like to convert. All I need to do now is find a supplier where EZMount isn't sold out!!! BTW, did you use the ⅛" of 1/16" thick EZMount foam?

15 seconds at 7 second increments in the microwave works perfect for most wood/rubber stamp removal.

This is great! Did you find any loss of cling on the stamp after you stamped it with Stayz-on? I did this once (not using the Misti) and had some loss of cling. I use a hot knife on the cling foam and it seals the edges around the stamp so there is no adhesive & it works great!

That is so awesome! Thank you!

You can microwave for 10 seconds and the red rubber will come off. I use the heated knife to cut thru the foam. That was suggested on the original Sunday International Website, the orignial makers of EZ foam. The heated knife is in a kit like the woodburner kit and has a hot knife tip. I have use the hot knife tip to cut thru other items as well. Never have use the other tips.. bought the kit just for the hot knife tip. Sunday International is know owned by Crafters Companion.

Love it! Cannot wait to get my MISTI. I use the thin mount EZ foam, I find it stamps the same but is so much thinner. My question is.....the back is black on the thin foam, not lt gray like the standard foam. Do you think a white pigment ink would work the same or opaque staz on?? I really want to unmount my large stamps like your video (once I get my super duper MITSTI of course!) Great invention, can't stop talking about it!

I have a question, why did you not insert the foam into the MISTI to stamp the image on it? Is is because of the thickness of the foam, or trying to conserve the cling foam. I was confused about this part. Really liked this info and LOVE my MISTI!!!

Thanks for subscribing. Try your local scrapbook store. If they don't have it, look on Ellen Hutson.

Alleta Smith I got that cutter (Fiskar’s) from Joann’s in that mall up on I-394(?) in the Twin Cities. Sadly, like SO much paper crafting supplies, it was on “CLEARANCE”, so I doubt you could find it through any of them. If you’re wanting something like it, I’d suggest you try an art store near a University

My Misti and EZ Mount are on the way. I do have one question about mounting stamps that are not square or rectangle in shape. Do you cut the stamp to the shape of the image or in a square or rectangle as close to the image as possible. Thank you for your time and wonderful, informational videos.
@mysweetpetunia19 жыл бұрын
Tammi Zieber I am not an expert. I believe you trim the foam to the image.
@pikeandike9 жыл бұрын
Yes, cut the shape as close as possible or you will have to watch each time that you don't have ink on the corners left if you cut a square. Although when using the MISTI it probably matter!

Great idea. I might try this with my newer stamps. But, it would cost me a fortune to redo all my wood mounted stamps.

Why is it best to use the EZ mount foam instead of just using a low tack glue on the back of the rubber? I have seen several of this UN mounting youtubes and am curious as to why you use the foam?
@mysweetpetunia18 жыл бұрын
+FlygirlFunnyLady I used it because it was what I had handy. I rarely by unmounted stamps.

Thanks so much for this tutorial and this wonderful tool! Rectangles are easy but I'm nervous about doing other shapes but I will get through it. :o) The question I have is you say not to use anything but the Novus cleaner (which I bought from you) on the MISTI, however you are using a baby wipe in this instance. I was wondering why you broke your rule in this instance? Is it okay to use a baby wipe sometimes then?
@donnafleming10379 жыл бұрын
1rubberlover It appears she only used the baby wipe on the top of the MISTI lid that has the grid cling on it which probably wouldn't be damaged with the baby wipe.
@pikeandike9 жыл бұрын
I use baby wipes all the time (non alcohol ones) and they don't hurt your MISTI at all. I gasped when she sprayed stazon cleaner the stamp which was on top of her opened MISTI...never ever use stazon cleaner on your MISTI!
@vlapine8 жыл бұрын
this is good to know. I just bought stazon cleaner this week and have used it only on the stamp. Glad I had not used it on my misti.

Do you know if stamping the image on the front side will work if I purchased the ez mount with out the foam? I bought that because my wood block mounted stamps already have the form.

What is the difference between the black 1/16 EZ Mount and the gray 1/8 ez mount? My foam stayed intact on all my stamps can I keep it on or do I need to take the foam off also?
@mysweetpetunia16 жыл бұрын
It is the thickness. It all depends on the thickness of the stamp you have on which one you need.
