Great video! Its really nice when we do have a strong motivation to craft our stuff, like a kid coming! Congrats for the lil boy! I´ve just became a father also, but its a little princess. One tip for you upgrade your project would be to inverte the position of the gas struts. People say that its better for lubrification of the piston!

Nice Job. Do you have a part number on the struts? How many foot pounds? about how much the lid weighed? Did you just guess at them and it worked out? And do the gas struts help with lift assist also?
