Wood turning - Oak and Ash Bowl (with red Tulipwood inserts)

An Oak and Ash Bowl blank transformed into a very pretty bowl.
This is a remake of an idea I had last year, but this time I have added some red Tulipwood inserts to really bring it to life!

Light finish cuts with a freshly burred negative rake scraper would make the job sand better and remove those tool marks in the bottom. You have a very nice looking bowl.

Negative rake scraper is very easy to use. The carbide NR bits cant be burred, a good steel NR will get you there. The burr doesnt last long but does such a good job its worth doing.

I'm kind of new to the world of wood turning. I get the wax, but what is the cellulose sanding sealer for and is it necessary?

Cellulose Sanding sealer is a game changer! An absolute must. Think of it like a foundation for the finish. One applied it is dry in less than a minute and gives a smooth finish to then wax. chestnutproducts.co.uk/product/cellulose-sanding-sealer/ Other brands are out there, but this is my first choice.

Sealer can also raise the grain so you feel a very small roughness. Hit it lightly with steel wool after the sealer and it will be silky smooth.
