Wood Turning Segments and Stars

I turn a segmented bowl full of stars. The feature ring has 8 stars in it. The bowl is made from American Walnut Peruvian Walnut and Maple. The bowl is finished using Minwax Wipe on Poly.

But next week will not be segments. I have my multi-axis turning done...YEE HA! What a lovely bowl! Your video is such an immediately understood example of the uses of basic math and geometry. I hope kids see this and go, AHA! That's what it's good for! I mean, math makes up everything we touch--as does design, for that matter. This is just a lovely reason to use it. (This from a vintage mechanical engineer. ;))
