I’m so glad there was minimal cnc use here! CNC seems like a specialty tool that’s hard to imitate with “normal” tools; this feels much more accessible.

Not only was it a great project, the video was just awesome. You have really become a great filmmaker. I enjoyed the transition with the grid, and then your overlays of the CAD graphics on the actual pieces was great, and of course the stop-motion is fun as always. I appreciate all the hard work you put into making these videos. I watch many, many project videos - and you are mentioned often. It's no wonder why so many people regard your work and often mention and imitate or pay homage to it. Thanks for making these videos, Frank. If you keep making them, I'll keep watching and spread the word.

Hey Frank, a trick I've used to "soak" pieces without needing a big ($$$) bucket of walnut oil is to put them in a plastic bag with a cup or so of the stuff, and coming by to move the piece around in the bag every so often. Sort of like marinating fish.

My only concern is that you followed the pattern of the patches of the replica version of the ball. The "real" Telstar 18 has a different patch pattern (the replica is about 20 bucks, the real one is about 200)

I've done work on scroll saws to create some of my own masterpieces and even on that scale, some of the more intricate ones take double the time. I can't imagine working something like that from start to finish. That's not hours....that's days. Amazing work!
