I was planning to dress as a 45 degree miter cut for Halloween, because it's very scary :D but with this jig it looks way less scary, i will definitely build this

The only issue I would have - and this is a personal problem (🤣) - I would have difficulty building the jig correctly. I may give it a try anyway.... or several tries. Excellent video - yet again! Thank you!

If all the measurements are being made in the left wing, why is the slot for the stop block and the right to left measure tape part of the jig. Wouldn’t it just make sense to use one side right or left as your designated measurement wing? In this case yours would be the left. The right wing seems redundant. What am I missing? Great jig and great instruction by the way. 👍🏽

What is the danger or error induced if only one side of the sled is used. Rotating the piece parallel to the sled, the other end can be cut. I suppose if we are doing that, then the sled doesn't need two fences. Should we always change sides? I'd make this but I don't have dado set up. I want to make my own frames and could stand to be repeatable vs cut, check repeat. Thx

Sorry, I find that there are problems with this setup. 1. you registered the square piece to the base, but didn't ensure the runner is perpendicular to the back edge of the base. So that could be askew. 2. Assuming your square piece on top has perfect 90 degree side facing the front miter, every miter cut will have a perfect 45 degree cut regardless of how off it is and always match up left to right. That miter must be registered with the blade and there are now multiple variables which can find you off by several thousands of an inch which would definitely cause gaps in your remaining 3 corners of the frame. I know wood working doesn't always need such accuracy, but in the case of miters it needs to be as close to perfect as possible.

Rubbish full of errors especially when he talks about positioning the tapes towards the end, 3 inch mark is at the short end of the test piece not in the middle where the stop block would finish
