Another example of your amazing genius as a master sculpture artist. How often do you sharpen your chisels to keep such a sharp edge.
@Woodcarving_Master5 ай бұрын
I sharpen them when they need it could be as often as every 10 minutes to keep the edge that want key words.. as needed Thks for watching my channel 🙏

Watching you work is therapy. I did not see you use a pattern or at any time mark or draw on your sculpture. I carve duck decoys and other smaller projects but I cannot do much without a pattern or reference material. What type of wood are you carving. I know your tools are sharp but that wood carves like butte and BTW please don't ever come looking for me with that chainsaw in your hands. You are deadly with that tool!
@Woodcarving_Master4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your support if you have not already please subscribe to my channel The wood is eastern white pine and my tools are kept like razors all the time And I do make study drawing first as you see in beginning of film but rarely need to use a pattern I am scrawl a few refference lines on a block but for most part dont need to I occasionally will glance over at my study sketch while working but once I have the concept in my brain I am on auto pilot etc

That's a beautiful piece of wood as you carve it one can see little real grain pattern! So smooth - almost like marble. Is this Eastern White Pine? Great carving and good example how carve a horse head. Grain becomes apparent in the finish though. 🖕
@Woodcarving_Master10 ай бұрын
Yes it is eastern white pine it is plentiful here in CT and a good wood for painted work etc thks for watching my channel your support is appreciated please share my channel with others🙏

very impressive and very beautiful work!! I am a new subscriber. Can I ask a question? can you talk about how you finish your carving? like sealing, staining if there's any, etc. Thanks!
@Woodcarving_Master4 жыл бұрын
For painted work and natural work everything is tool finish I dont use sandpaper thr only way I smooth surface of wood beyond tool finish is with a torch etc to burn off splitters and bar oil Then painted work is primed with.white latex house paint primer and followed up with latex colors that's it believer In simplicity natural work gets few coats of tungsten oil no magic ingrediants

Just curious, are you related to that carver I saw years back who did the life size sculptures of Larry Bird and the Indian on the Woodcraft magazine? I think his name was Armand LaMontagne. Regardless, you do beautiful work.

too fast to keep up and study, where`s the point in the video if we the viewer cannot see how it`s done?
@Woodcarving_Master3 жыл бұрын
It's not a how to video it's made for entertainment your right it won't help a beginner I made it for people that collect and enjoy my work its not for learners ....with that said if somone already has some skills it might advance you a little I may do some how to beginner videos in the future for folks like you but the problem is video would have to be 5 hours long....most people won't watch long videos etc... But stay tune will experiment with some how to videos if they are recieved well I will make more etc.

Let me enlighten you skippy....it was a portrait of a client's horse when somone hires me to do a portrait of there horse...you carve the mane it has boring or not ...not the mane I would like it to be ir some wana be watching your you tube channel would like it to be its about doing what your client commissioned you to do $$ ...sorry I know its hardwork commenting on films you know nothing about...maybe someday when you grow up you will know somthing
