Just wanted to say thanks for uploading the R3 videos. I love how you take your time and show every step for beginners like me and explain what they do and why. You’re the best thank you.

This video is SO helpful! Thank you! One thing to note, for the 2019+ model of the R3, the clip ons are below the triple clamp, so the upper triple has to be removed to do this job on the later model of the R3. Fortunately, you covered removing the upper triple clamp in the other video about installing the Woodcraft Key Switch Eliminator, which is also a fantastic video.

you can save money by relocating the factory clip-ons to the bottom of the triple clamp. All you need is a longer M6... only downside is that the throttle cable can rub on the fairing
@sportbiketrackgear6 жыл бұрын
We did not try to do that on the R3. The reason we did not was if you crash the bike and break the OEM clip on you will need to pull the top triple again to install a set of clip ons. If you are going to do this go with clip ons that allow you to replace the tube if you have a wreck. - Brian Van
@FunnyBus3rd6 жыл бұрын
good point about breaking the oem clip ons, but being on a budget , relocating the oems seems to be a good option

Hello. Enjoying the series, thanks. My suggestion for the next one: Replace the throttle tube for a shorter throw R6 throttle tube, and change the factory levers for short, adjustable levers. Since the bike is being used for racing, both of those seem like no brainers. Anyway, keep up the good work, cheers!
@sportbiketrackgear6 жыл бұрын
We have the throttle tube now, just need to get it installed. Levers are on the way, we are going with standard length levers. Shorty levers reduce the leverage so I prefer to stick with standard length. - Van

@@sportbiketrackgear fyi, it looks like for the 2019 R3 you have to remove the triple clamp! Just found that out today. All good though. Once that's off, the rest should be just as easy as your video! Cheers.

What is the difference between this and simply moving the OEM clip-ons below the top crown? Dying to know. Thanks guys
@sportbiketrackgear4 жыл бұрын
It lowers the bar position to a more performance riding friendly position. Aftermarket clip ons also allow you to change just the hollow tube if the bars are damaged in a crash. OEM clip ons are one piece and break in a wreck. - Van

Hopefully I didn’t miss it but it looks like these clip ones don’t require a fork height adjustment? I’m looking at getting some but don’t want to mess with the fork height, just want to bolt everything on and go.

Hello i have a question about installing these clip ons on a CBR500R. I want to get the wood craft clip ons with a 2.5’’ rise. So when you install these do they go under the triple clamp or on top of the triple clamp?

Does this mod improve steering control? Or is this just a aesthetic thing? I’m a biker noob forgive me
@sportbiketrackgear6 жыл бұрын
If you are going to build your R3 into a fully prepped track bike you should install a steering damper. For street riding I do not feel like this is needed. A steering damper will help minimize and or prevent head shake when the front end is light on acceleration etc... - Van

Ugh I hate modifications that require drilling of ANY kind. I don't like doing THOSE kind of mods to my bike in which a fuck up on the location of the drilling spot or cutting can leave you screwed. That shit is where I draw the line and let professionals deal with it. With every other thing that has to do with my bike, I'll install it myself...but ya, fuck having to do things like drill perfectly placed holes. I like nice bolt on products haha...not fabrication of ANY KIND. I like when things are set up in a way that is it is 100% meant to be that way and clip/snap/screw/bolt together nicely. edit: I wrote this before seeing him drill into the metal in the throttle portion of the bar...hell to the no. I ain't messing with drilling into METAL that is crucial to the placement of my throttle. Also not drilling into my ignition switch box either. I'll gladly pay a shop to do that shit. I ain't creating a nightmare for myself by half assembling my bike with a new part, then getting stuck where I am fucked and can't ride. I have a car obviously too, but what a pain in the ass fucking up my bike by trying to be "manly" and do EVERYTHING myself. I'll admit defeat when it comes to stuff that isn't bolt/snap/screw/glue/etc.-on lol...
