I don’t think houses for people are built with this much care and attention here. Jackie is a lucky dog! The KZbin algorithm suggests things to me, which is how I found you. But I only subscribe and watch when I am sure that the creators are as good as you are. It is a pleasure to watch you work, even when I don’t like the finished product (very rare), because you do it SO WELL. You even gave Jackie landscaping!! Думал что это американцы делают, ну знаете когда рабочее место чистое все на своих местах, аккуратно, где каждой мелочи уделяется внимания. В общем до этого момента думал что американцы делают 21:40 оказалось наши. Конечно много мастеров тоже делают хорошо, а здесь как то с душой что ли делают ну круто молодцы.

I did something very similar for our dog, but on a slightly different scale and it doesn't have the enclosed patio area on it. I was a little concerned about the insulated room keeping it's heat in with the door wide open, so I broke it up into two rooms. The dog has to walk through one room, which is not insulated, to get to the 2nd room, which is insulated. I offset the doors to further reduce air flow, and on nights that are colder than usual we hang an old towel over the door but I'm looking to upgrade that this year to something a little more permanent. When I hang the towel over the door the insulated room tends to stay a good 10 degrees warmer than it does without the towel up

Straw. Just gat your dog a big bunch of clean straw to burrow into. There is no better insulation, the dog can shape it around itself, it's warm even if the dog is damp from snow or rain and it makes for a nice soft bedding. Wool is also good.

Excellent! I just wrote an overly wordy comment about the gapping hole entry way, and the very high ceiling not allowing the dog to fully enjoy the insulated house (heat rising and all). The wind break wall, the two areas within the dog house= brilliant! As I read your comment I smiled, knowing exactly what you meant and appreciating how simple the idea is, knowing full well how valuable an idea it is and thinking how unfortunately it is rarely done. Five thumbs up to you for thinking inside the inside box! (Im a dork I know!)

Oh yeah for your dogs door on his/her house use a clear piece of thick plastic, think dog door flap. Or better yet, install a dog door. I've seen it, it works and looks great.

they could add a doggy door to block off air flow. they have electric ones that are air proof that will open with a chip attached to the dogs collar

That's not a Dog House, it's a Dog Palace! A very nice looking young dog, looks very intelligent too & will have plenty of protection in the wonderful 'dog house' you have built but I guess the conditions at times in your home country would demand something pretty warm & cosy. If you ever needed to , you could move into the 'doghouse' with Jackie. It was a great video to watch, as always. Thats how you keep a dog in healthy conditions! A dog needs exactly such a house outside and his home should be the backyard and thats why he protects the house. In Balkan we build some thing similar but not fancy, juat a cage and a house and hes fine and happy😊 i worryed for my puppy as i left him out, and when i woke uo in the morning and pet him, he was hot like fire😅 a dog dosnt belong in a living room😊

While building Montana hunting lodge, we took scrape wood made coolest dog house I've seen. Instead of doorway open to weather, dog house has hallway to back an entrance in back wall out of wind an cold. But in hallway going back to doorway we built pressure pad dog had to walk on to get back to his doorway. Pressure pad activated a heat lamp, keeping dog alive an even somewhat comfortable. Then when do walked out dog house door to outside hallway, dog would have to step on pressure pad a second time, shutting off power as dog left dog house.

So amazing! Nice to see people providing such lovingly created shelter for their doggy do! Just a few questions/thoughts... 1) Why such a huge dog door into the "house" area? 2) Why no flap on dog door into "house" area to keep wind and cold out? 3) why so much space, like an entire second floors worth of upper space to the "house" area? I've always read a dog house shouldn't be very much bigger than the dog (at full growth size). This is so the dog feels cozy and warm, because his body heat and the house insulation work together to "heat" his house. With so much open space above dogs head, and with reality that Heat Rises, add to that the huge open hole of a dog door, seems the dog will never be able to get cozy snug and warm in the house despite the exquisite insulation you provided. If there were a second floor, a simple platform of an area for the dog, well that'd be the place this dog would find a super warm and cozy area. Straw is a wonderful fluffy addition to the inside of the house for many reasons; it doesn't absorb water or mold like hay does, often dogs like to burrow into it for snuggle factor and it provides a cozy fluffy appeal. It really is a beautiful house for a beautiful dog. Personally though I strongly feel dogs belong in the house with the family. Dogs are very social beings, they thrive on the companionship and bond they create with humans. But if a dog is to be outside away from the family, a house like this at least provides quality and beautifully built shelter from the elements. Maybe consider getting another doggy for him/her do she doesn't have to live isolated and all alone??

is your comment to me? If so, Really? You think it's "so sad", because I wrote a lot, and (boohoo) I got "no comments"?!? Are u kidding me?! I didn't write, even one word, hoping for 'likes'. How old are u? It would have been nice to get a response from the person I wrote too, you know, the builder of the dog house? I really hope the person at least read my comment. And thrn perhaps thought more about some of what I said. Maybe ended up slapping up a plastic flappy thing to cover over that big ol' hole into the dog house. I have a great love for animals. Every word I wrote was motivated by love. I wanted to share my concerns for the dog and that the dog won't be able to get warm in that huge house. And I'll say it yet again, Dog houses are supposed to be only slightly larger than the dog, so the dogs body heat (and any insulation) can generate a toasty warmth. The huge open doors on dog houses have always baffled me. Try sitting in an empty garage, door open wide during a winter rain storm, or throughout the snowy winter. That is a perfect comparison. A homes garage has insulation in the walls. But it's a much too large area for a human to find warmth in, at least one that is just an empty shell. No way anyones body heat can ever generate enough to make a cozy warmth. Too cavernous. Add a wide open huge garage door, and you'd be in a fetal position, tucked up as tight into yourself as u can. But, it is a beautifully crafted dog home. Clearly a work motivated by love. I value that in people. It's a great charcteristic we need more of. People who give instead of take.
