I am in the process of building a pond outside my house as big if not bigger than this but it is nice to know what it could look like 20 years down the road. I have kois still boarding in Japan and excited to bring them in my new pond. Great videos!

I love the aqua blue rocks too! Happy to see all the trees surrounding pond. My backyard has a few trees which made me wonder about the tree "droppings" and how it will affect a pond. Glad to see and know how it all works. Thanks again for an amazing video!!

Just check the skimmer basket on a regular basis to remove any leaves or debris that might have fallen on the pond. In the fall - add pond netting over the surface to capture the leaves. It's really not a lot of work. :)

First of all, always fun to watch your Vlog - even here in Germany. So much to learn from you. But still i've got a question: Are the Aqua Blue boulders Basalt or are they similar to it? Because I am planning to build a pond and waterfall and want to use Basalt for the edging and the boulders you used look pretty similar.

Jack Hembree He probably leaves it running koi can survive cold temperatures as long as the water is recirculating the pond won’t freeze over.

Jack, what Moa said. The fish stay in the pond during the winter. You just need to keep a hole in the ice for the exchange of gases.

Some people leave their pond and waterfalls running through the winter. The ice formations are spectacular. Some people choose to shut it down over the winter.
