Thank you (Y) This is exactly what I hoped to find here on youtube: A DIY vise I can build into the new workbench I'm starting to build next week. And without any special tools I've seen in other DIY vises. I'm going to flush the outside of the inner board to the side of the tabletop, in case I want to work on the sides of longer boards and make it easy to fasten one end on the vise and the other end with a clamp or two. And I'm going to make 2 holes for bench dogs in the outer board of the vise, and holes in the top of the bench, to be able to fasten boards, etc, on the table top with the use of the vise. This basic bench vise in the video makes it so easy to add whatever we want to fit our different needs. I really thank you SO much for all the amazing inspiration in all your videos and for the drawings (Y) :D Stay safe and creative!

Went to Home Depot yesterday. My design is similar but I am using 2 inch steel angle for the jaw supports. For the rods, all 5/8 solid steel outside and thread rod in center. The slide spinner is going to be another piece of 5/8 rod threaded ends.

The book consists of attractive images as well as drawings and also reader-friendly text. I consider this book a "must have" since it supplies a broad range of information on just about everything working with woodworking and does it quite well.?

I've watched a lot of vise building videos and your technique is the one I will be following, I will make a few minor changes, I will use leather to face my vise and I will be drilling dog holes in the outer face, my handle will be slightly different but that's all the changes, I've already printed your plans so thankyou very much, I'm going to look to see if you have made a video for your angle grinder cut off jig, I'm going to build that as well. very good idea for this back plate nut to put it in seperate wood peace and screw it on the vice peace. this makes few options more to atach the vice to some other places.
