My dad and his dad loved these boats. My late dad had a 75 horse Merc on his. Took it to Minnesota every summer

Nice barrel. When you bung, are you supposed to keep the grain of bung in same direction, or not ? What do you use to adhere your bung. Glue or ???? Wood glue, or Elmer's white...

Yes, we put the bung in with the grain, and we use Tightbond 3 to glue them in.

I have a 1940 CC 17" racing boat (Fred) that also is a tumblehome transom. Stain, not paint like most racing boats produced. Blue gauges, West bottom. White stripes, tho. 155 HP 3 carb KBL. Still a 6 volt. Wish it had the orange stripes! Great design feature. Did you go 5200 on yours?
