Thank God we have people like you on this planet !! I love it when somebody steers out of the norm and comes up with something different.Your biggest challenge is to restrict your design to fit in a smart car.To be more environmentally friendly a small solar panel to charge those batteries will be a winner.I realized in pt 2 that your friend giving electrical advice was a Malteser.As they say 'it takes one to know one". Greetings from Malta and thanks for posting. PS. silence comes in handy for birdwatchers.An internal combustion motor will scare them away.

Thanks for kind comments. I would have difficulty creating something normal and conventional! You might need a lot of solar panels to provide enough power?

I electrified my Prijon Yukon kayak and it worked well on Causey Reservoir near Salt Lake City in Utah, where I reside. Spent 4 yrs at RAF Bentwaters. Took up soaring at the RAF Wattisham Gliding and Soaring Club and the CFI Eric (I think it was he) gave me the nickname "Spamcan". Both children born at RAF Lakenheath. Loved the foks; loved the countryside. Lived in Carlton nr Saxmundam off the A12. OOOHHHH, I'd love to have some bangers from the cooker, now, and REAL fish 'm chips!

Well, I got the surprise of my life when I heard the next door neighbour speaking my own mother language. Of course this man was doing an excellent job for inshore water and he has a craft that will give him many hours of enjoyment. At my age and with a three year old grandson, well I have to go back to boating but since we have no calm inshore waters our boats need to be of a different design. Happy boating.

a few years ago, while taking a woodworking class i got very geeky about choosing a plan for a toolbox, happened upon your's, and bought the plan. this weekend i've been scouring the web with much difficulty for a small plywood dinghy or catamaran to fit in my car, and by strange luck found yours. i may build it.

this is awesome ..i have land thats accross the river from our main road here ..i used to cut trees over there and have to canoe to work every day ...this is light enough that i could put it on back of a truck and load and unload myself ..the water is fairly swift and where get in the river is a ways up river from the land so i used a 5 hp envrude witch is a frig to load and unload everyday...the lovely neigbors that live on this stretch of road would hide my canoe or just let it go downstream ..everyday was a battle eventually i lost the motor and canoe ..a chainsaw motor would run a mighty prop and would be lighter then the two bateries ...maybe a chainsaw motor turning a jet drive would be good too..god bless this great and the possibilities are endless

Absolutely beautiful catamaran mate. Hope to start work on a similar but unique design soon. I will video record the entire process and once I have completed and tested the boat successfully I will then upload a time lapse edit with caption. Thank you for inspiring me to push myself when I felt like giving up. Cheers mate!

Yes, for some unknown reason part 2 is the most watched video in my series on the build process and a lot of people thought it was going to be an open top sailing craft. Thanks for following. It is impossible to predict which will video will receive the highest viewings but maybe the boat that looks as though it will sink atrracts the most attention!! It was not deliberate click bait.

Jari - yes I considered that but my dog feels very insecure with just water below him. He is fine lying on one of the floats. The design works perfectly with the foot bar and seat beam which gives rigidity to the whole craft.

Jeremy where is that speed boat then
@T25AM76
@T25AM76 9 жыл бұрын
I saw turbulence at the rear of the boat due to the flat backs if you make the rear point the same as the front there would be less turbulence and it could go faster and have more range.
@WoodomainJeremyBroun
@WoodomainJeremyBroun 9 жыл бұрын
Yes I am aware of that! I made the decision to butt the stern for crucial extra buoyancy as the micro cat is specifically designed to fit into a Smart car and every available bit of available space was taken up. That was my calculation and the range of 20 miles is quite adequate. The design had to meet a variety of criteria.
