For the most part, H8_Seed handled the songwriting and lyrics, and I produced the track. He wrote the lyrics as sort of a spiritual successor to Rainbow Factory; as the story goes, a worker has an epiphany and tries to redeem himself in the eyes of the normal world.

Some fandoms may be cringy, toxic or edgy, but let's not forget that, even in the most toxic of fandoms, there are also good people who produce good stuff. Let's not forget about that and allow people to be themselves and not poke fun of them for what they like. Also, the reason why people connect this song with many fandoms is because the song is about a villain who went through some kind of redemption, there are many other characters like that and that's why people use it so much, to the point when it became overused :/ (which doesn't mean the song is cringy, it's actually really good)

this fandom didn't used to always be this toxic and horrible. there was a time when the brony fandom was in a golden age. the positivity filled the fandom. the horror content people pointed to was all made for entertainment some like it darker than others. i don't to mention the r34 pictures as EVERY fandom has it. its not exclusive to mlp. there were just as many if not much more wholesome fanart of mlp. but that is an age past. i left at the end of season 5. i didn't enjoy where the show was headed. i think somewhere deep down i knew what direction it was going. it was getting more and more grounded to reality as well as becoming more and more "toy driven" i say "toy driven" as in if hasbro came out with a new toyset then the writers had to find some way to incorporate that into the show. leading to many jaring and frankly incoherent plotholes and dropped storylines as time went on. the more it got grounded the more toxic people came. once the snakes are in they multiply and spread like cancer and its impossible to cut it out. i am honestly glad i wasn't here to see it slowly devolve from a place of positivity that incomprehensibly saved lives, including my own, to this pit of negativity. there used to be a genuine sense of community in the brony fandom. one that welcomed you with open arms. i don't see that anymore in the fandom. in a sense you could relate this song to someone who was in an originally positive and community filled fandom, "woke up" to the realization of what the fandom they had loved had become. they realized this isn't the fandom they once knew and had to leave and cut it out of their lives. that sentiment can be applied to many people in many different fandoms.

The main branches of the story are Auroradawn's fanfictions (Pegasus Device), and the PMV interpretation (Awoken). In Auroradawn's fanfictions pegasus foals who fail a flight test are crushed and the pigment of their coat is magically extracted and used to make rainbows, while in the PMVs rainbows are made from pony blood (including unicorns and earth ponies as well as pegasi).

"Cringey fandoms" are just a natural byproduct of something being wildly popular for any period of time. MLP's fandom got weird when it hit it's largest wave of "counterculture" popularity. And the reason Undertale was so toxic was due to the same thing. Almost worse because it got even bigger. But the common thread with all of these fandoms is that some truly great things came from all of them, despite some loudmouthed people annoying others on the internet.

Now that MLP:FIM is over and no more fan-songs are made (as if people did since like 2016) I just wanted to mention how good these times were. We all probably grew up with this show and these songs. All the mystery behind Rainbow Factory. I remember being scared of the official music video. That's just why I didn't really listen to these songs that much but I was still surprised that I did remember 85% of the words and English isn't even my first language. That's how powerful these songs are.

Three years after I stopped being a pegasister, I'm coming back on this gem. Oh god how I love this song, I think it's my favourite among every other Woodentoaster songs, and also the one that doesn't have a decent remix and is better in it's original form. The power emerging from this track is insane, and I love H8_Seed. These songs kind of got me through high school, as well as leading me to meet people I thought I would never would have called my friends. In a way, I sort of grew up with this fandom, and it's sad to see that I've grown away from it. Definitely one of the best MLP fandom songs ever made. As someone who was a child, obsessed with MLP in 2011-2014, the music and the fandom definitely made the show what it was and it was what got me into EDM music. Its hard to listen to some of the newer stuff because this really is good and its saddening that there isn't more music like this.
