Yet another swamp crawl to get lol. At this point I should run Swamp World with Woodfall, Fever Swamp, Across the White Marsh, and The Biting Marsh in Chromatic Soup.

I’m about to finish a Hag-centric campaign, and this would have been very handy two years ago. Thanks Ben!

I can think of three adventures you might be able to slip Woodfall into. Temple of the Frog, Legacy of Blood, and the original orange cover of Palace of the Silver princess. All three feature a swamp somewhere. Might be fun.

I have been consuming your content a LOT. It's short, informative and straight to the point. I have only one general comment about something I have been struggling with: Lots of OSR books have maps on their pages, or rely on diagrams, like the one you just showed about the economy. My question is: how do you balance accessibility and relying on maps? I am just thinking about a person with a visual impairment who can't read maps and all of a sudden can't comprehend these OSR books because of how much reliance they have on images. Dunno, I have been writing my own OSR and am heavily pondering how to do the layout, where to place maps, and how to provide alternatives for people who can't rely on images. (this can be niche, but I anyway)

This setting seems very Pratchettian. It could fit very easily in a Jim Henson/Discworld style campaign setting.

Is Pratchettian a word? if it isn't, it is now for me!

I love that you gave the economic theme a positive review. I've seen far too many reviewers whom I respect crap all over it, as so many do when things are overtly political. I just like having a balance! Though I agree, those on-the-nose communists are stupid. Anything that takes you out of the setting...
@QuestingBeast5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the author doesn't take any position on the anarchism, soviet-style communism, environmental terrorism, etc present in the book. They're just kind of...there. The players can deal with those factions however they want.
@DarielHernandez005 жыл бұрын
You can definitely tell there's an anarchist vs monarchy tendency, plus Pol Pot & Soviet Communists being at odds historicaly. So I agree with your criticism of it being way too on the nose, it takes me out the fiction too despite loving history. It's not gonna stop me from getting this. I really can only think of this and Eclipse Phase as games that present politics & economics in a fun tangible way instead of doctrine.

Though I do find the idea of communist necromancers trying to take over the world amusing, I do agree that it would be pretty unimmersive in most contexts.

I feel like this is very standard homebrew material. It works if having something already made up is worth more to you than including things you like.

"Brother number one" is actually a Pol Pot reference.

Thank you for pointing out the Pros and Cons. Looks like the pros outnumber the cons and another book that I will have to get. I also noticed that binding issue on my Copy of Neoclassical Geek Revival. I also seen that the book doesn’t like to lay flat when closed.

what about the map distance. The ONE THING missing....is each hex 6 miles or 10? If so WHY is the soldier camp 36 miles away?
@christophseel87572 жыл бұрын
Does anyone know where to get hex tiles like that for commercial use…I means specifically black and white ones for hexkit
