Hi. Thankyou for your video. Just a quick ask bought some pine parquet flooring, in not great condition dry and marked n dented, thinking about cutting 5mm off the top surface using a table saw. Wondering if this is a good idea or just lay and sand all at once.

Thanks Russel the wife and I are now arguing about new parquet and old in our house refurb, the house is 1925 build and the pitch and nail fixed floor boards on the ground floor are lose and a bit rotten in places, particularly near the front entrance door. So I want to take the boards up and lay an old parquet floor. The wife wants a new parquet floor due to the fitting being more precise and neat. Won’t the new parquet shrink back a little anyway? Thanks for a great vid

Hi John, sounds like you have the old Red Deal boards on suspended joists, usually with a crawl space underneath and external air emanating constantly. Ideally these need to come up and 18mm plywood installed as a solid base and to protect the parquet from external air. In relation to old or new parquet it all depends on the ascetics. Perhaps call Ciara and she'll arrange a site visit to chat through it further 087-6268100

Hello, Do you have any recommandation on how to remove tar from under-knees parquet tiles that would be healthy for workers ? Thanks for your video !

I'm afraid the only two options are a blow-torch or scraper. The blow torch is not too healthy so your best option is a scraper but you need huge muscles and loads of care. It's not easy !!

@@Woodflooringdublin Thanks for your answer ! You never tried table saw with aspiration? or more tedious, Bandsaw?

What about buying one of those cheap small planer/jointer combo machines? I beleive they are like $200 in my country. You pass plank through the machine and it planes it on one side...
