This made me think of the pencil vending machines we had in my elementary school as a kid here in the US. They looked similar to bubblegum machines with a wide mouth. They would load them with pencils that had MLB and Football teams names colors on them. Quarter per pencil.

I have several that are YEARS old and as yet unused from a quantity bought and equally scattered across the spaces in my life. A great pencil indeed, and at present time sentiment has kept me from putting those few unused to paper.

So much of emotions you woke up...., now a days no value for things.. and have seen many on the way to bus, walk around the kids schools... have picked up many... but busy life does't allow all seen to be picked up.... Thank you for a great expression......

The brown/maroon stubbie pencil marked Lee Valley is a pencil made for precision woodworkers just like all the tools Lee Valley also make. They used to have a particular lead that could be wetted to change its appearance on dark woods.

Yea, it is very easy to relate to old pencil stubs if used pencils. I always want to keep mine or even those other people want to throw away. I am pretty sure it is not normal and is a psychological disorder of some kind. It gives a false illusion that somehow you are connected to the person who wrote with the pencil before it was a stub, or with the content the pencils created in the text they wrote.

I love your heart and soul for sharing it beautifully and eloquently. It's just infectious that I want to collect and gift beautiful pencils. I have a ton of old pencils. I love pencils. It's hard to find real wood pencils that aren't particle board or 2 halves glued together or wrapped in plastic.. ugh. They jam up your sharpner and you cant stick them in your hair or thru your bun without pulling your hair out! I'm picky as hell about pencils.

LOL the music in this video as the old beaten and outcast pencils are described makes me think they are compared to human orphans, abandoned senior citizens, or just oppressed people. They are like the old Jews who are telling their grandchildren about how when they were children they escaped through the parted red sea from the pursuing chariots of the Egyptian pharaoh.
@daytonagreg8765 Жыл бұрын
You’re stickin’ them all in your electric pencil sharpener to “clean them up” right? 😳
