If the stove or flue is very cold it can sometimes be harder to light it. This short film shows you how best to get it going. Firewood is very solid pieces of ash wood - sadly harvested from ash-dieback trees. Sometimes these take a bit of lighting. Use a firelighter, kindling and smaller pieces of wood to start with.
Sometimes you might need to open the door of the burner a little to get more air-flow at the beginnning. Please don't leave it unattended if you do this.
When burning well load up the burner and close down the vents. The output should easily heat a large section of your holiday cottage.
