I came here for a solution to an airlock, I left here with a solution to an airlock and a crush on an Irish plumber.

Ive heard people attaching a hoover can suck the air bubble out but im not sure how that would work with an electrical appliance meant to suck up dirt! Bit dodgy if you ask me but loads of plumbing sites say it can be done! Nice video well presented!

A VAX carpet washer could be used, tried it myself the other day, didn`t work though

I used one of those magic hoses that inflate when you use them - worked a treat and much less cumbersome than one of the thick garden hoses - also has good attachment points so i could get one of those B&Q over tap fittings screwed onto the hose threads - thats actually the problem is getting the hose to fit over the tap end or up the mixer once you have removed the filter without water spraying everywhere so i used a towel draped over the tap to catch the water - still a messy job and I think its a good idea to leave it running for 10 mins even if you think a quick few minutes has worked - in older houses like mine i think its more to do with debris from the loft water tank than an air bubble.

You've said nothing about the connector at each end. What's that called?

You should explain the type of hose used since this is not your common hose.
