Out of the two macro compositions, my preferred shot having now seen the end result was the first one. I much prefer the soft complimentary white surroundings over the contrasting colour of green, which frames the second one.

Hi Simon, lovely film again 👍 my favourite is the white background version of the wild garlic flower. OK sorry in advance if this is a bit deep for a KZbin question...! Regarding focus stacking, do you think you might do a "How to guide" on your channel? I understand the principle, but it's something I shy away from because it all seems a bit complicated 😂 I've heard rumours that some cameras have automatic focus stacking? Cheers Jeff
@SimonBoothPhotography3 жыл бұрын
You’re right Jeff, some of the newer models have this built in but how good they are is to be seen. They work by using the touch screen whereby you touch the near and far distances of sharp focus! I would rather have full control though. I will give some thought to your question about a tutorial!

(It's just getting up again when I get down there :-( ) And I am delighted now to have come across you so looking forward to seeing more of your videos. Just one question, Simon. For these focus stacked images, can I assume your camera was on Manual and that you manually re-set the focus via the lens, or did you magnify the image on your LCD screen and then moved the focus point by touching the screen?
@SimonBoothPhotography3 жыл бұрын
Hey Dinah. Thanks for commenting. The bit that I don't show on the film is me trying to get back op after 20 minutes on the ground. It doesn't''t half hurt!
