Woodland Macro Photography - Nature Photography tips - With Ulanzi VL49 RGB LED

Woodland is teeming with Macro and close-up opportunities and this day out gave me access to Wild Garlic, Orchids, Bluebells, Wood Anomies and butterflies.
I exclusively used my Olympus M.Zuiko 40-150mm Pro zoom and Olympus 60mm Macro along with the brilliant Ulanzi VL49 RGB LED lights.

Thanks for the recommendation about these specific lights, Andy ; have now bought 3 of them from amazon :-) They are very light and quite useful and allow any RGB value and brightness or a good range of colour temps to be shown. David

We are still a bit behind you and don't have nearly as many flowers and greenery yet, but I am looking forward to using my macro gear outdoors in some nice weather for a change as opposed to shooting at my dining room table. I've just picked up a Laowa 50mm 2X macro lens for my micro 4/3 cameras and haven't used it much due to lack of plants and insects and other interesting subject matter. We don't have have wild garlic here (or bluebells), which is a pity because they look amazing. Great tip about the tripod legs!

Very nice video. I use a home made Perspex folding screen when out in the woods and such photographing wild flowers

@Peter Tampsett. Thanks. I watched his video on the "box". It's how I imagined he might have built it. Awkward additional thing to carry though. I wonder about using a modified light tent with springy edges (like a folding reflector). I have thought of taking a 5 in 1 reflector before and just using the diffuser part. Never tried it. Maybe I should.
