I recently purchased the 122..i recommend this sawmill to anyone that wants to mill their own lumber..i been around a lot of saw mills and this sawmill does the same job as a 8000 mill..you will be satisfied with this mill..

I've asked WoodlandMills several questions on their sawmills, and several in sawmill forums recommend this mill to start with for the same money as their competitors. Based soley on appearance, is a much more solid design than the competition. That and the galvanized tracks has all but sealed the decision on which beginner-clasd sawmill to purchase.

I notice the rollers have a rounded inside but the track is not rounded for the rollers. I felt the rollers should roll over the rounded part in the track. What is the right side of the track?

Square edge up. The rounded roller seats on the edges of the square profile rail. This provides a small gap between the groove in the roller and the square track so that sawdust is less likely to cause the wheel to jump up or jam. It also reduces friction when compared to having a matched round profile on the rail with the round groove in the wheel.

I am still working on installing it. I have to buy bolts to bolt the frame rails down on some weather treated 2x4s on an old two ton truck frame i had. I understand now about the square to round interface. Now, i understand you only offer one kind of blade that is universal. I have a friend that says i should use blades for hard one and other blades for soft woods. I guess the difference is like having different cutting edges like hacksaws for different metals.

Hi Thor, We carry Lenox C Sharp blades and they are efficient for both hard & soft wood. 144” x 1.25” x 0.042” x 7/8” pitch and a 10 degree hook angle for the HM126 and HM130 and 125″ x 1.25″ x 0.042″ x 7/8″ 10 degree hook angle on the HM122. Also, it's good to know that the blades are a standard size, so you could source them locally or try other brands/types. I have not set it up yet due to my surgery on the 25th. I will cut red cedar, pecan, gum, black walnut when i do. I hope the blade sent with the mill will perform ok with these woods.
