Epicsaw is a nice option indeed. I just havent found a need to spend that money. I like my inexpensive electric lift.

Maybe add an adjustable stop on the cut side. Something you could slide up and down the rail. For when you cut shorter material.

The controller is the Pulse Width Modulator which controls the speed and direction. Here is a link. The chain I used is 40 count and sprocket I believe is a 6 inch sprocket. Happy Milling!

How did you attach the drive system to the mill

I simply bolted the motor assembly onto the carriage. You can see the bolts in the video when I first talk about the parking brake.

Oh yes. I use a DRO (found in another of my videos) and I can dial the blade in with pinpoint accuracy.

Thank you very much. I bought the chain from a local fleet farm store. I put the drive chain and motor on this side of the mill just so I could watch it to make sure a piece of tree bark didn’t fall on the chain and get missed and I also wanted to keep the chain away from the saw dust exhaust side. No problems yet.

Yes it is. Those things are easy to find, cheap, and they come with 2 motors. They can be wired for 12volts or 24 volts, and their designed for wet conditions.

This is VERY inexpensive and this unit is a 60 Amp unit. You can easily get away with a 20-30 amp unit but I like to over build things. 😉
