Woodland Pro TF810 wood chipper 15 shear bolts in 3hrs.... What's my opinion now

Testing the wood chipper and finding some issues.

Thank you for this information. I have been attempting to get fan drive information from WM on the 810 for a few days now. I told them I wish to mount it on a ford 6610S at 80 pto HP. Perhaps the Power I want to put in is limiting the response of Tech Dept... Sorry for your issues... you have saved me a headache. I'll keep looking. K

I was just about to pull the pin on this unit. Now I'm not sure. I'd like to hear from Woodland Mills, also, and know that this problem is fixed. Damm. Keep us updated.

I'll try to get another video up. I haven't much to report, at a bit of an impasse with woodland. They want it back to investigate and I need a chipper even if it's not ideal. I could have a much too high of a bar for it. Perhaps if you have much lower expectations than me , go ahead and get it. I was expecting a semi commercial unit that was twice it's physical size based on the sites description.

I also was getting ready to purchase this until but now will wait to see what Woodland has to say. I don't need another piece of machinery that I need to repair.

Don't get it. I can't see what it offers over the wc88 and likely has less capabilities than the wc88. Hope to compare the two next week.

Interesting, so with the pto driving the hydraulic motor for the infeed it means you have to have the blades spinning in order to run it. If they had just run it off of the power beyond you could back the log out even with a broken shear bolt.

It's tempting to make a couple hoses up and run off the tractor . It would definitely help to remove jams after the slip clutch or shear pin snaps.

Nothing about the quality of this machine, but most of the tractor pto driven wood chippers have self-contained hydraulic systems because a lot of tractors do not have hydraulic systems strong enough to support the chipper, or like my IH B-414, a lot of old utility tractors around 35hp do not have remotes for hydraulic power.

You might need to put a shaft with a clutch on it, I had to do that on all my tractor implements because my tractor engages so fast and strong I wood shear with out any restrictions. I run a kubota m7060

It might just be that. With electronic injection control, it comes on pretty instant. With the slip clutch , it has the ability to power through although I have jammed it up on 4-5 inch iron wood. Its def not perfect but its allowing me to make progress on the farm. Id love to try a wood mizer mx8800 to compare, so if they are reading this, feel free to send one over ;) .

Haven't much to update yet.. took half the blades out, it's a touch better but not much. Sending me a slip clutch which is a start but seems there's a more serious issue somewhere.

Yes That's where a slip clutch or belt pully dampens the shock. Glad I seen your video now I'm considering the WC 88 now over the TF 810
