Thats a great method, I should have watched your video before I did the lights on my layout, I was shocked at how fragile those wires are for street lights. Nice layout and details !.

Thanks! I got tired of trying to thread track leads through the com, so I used a straw to feed it through, then I had this thought to take it one more step so I’m not gluing the expensive light post, but the cheap styrene. Thanks for watching!

Thank you for posting this. 👍👍 I was wondering how I was going to get the tiny pole wires threaded through small hole in foam and plywood. The small plastic tube is great idea. I can use this idea for track signals too.

Thanks for watching. Yes, use it for any through hole wire setup. Soda straws are a great option for just wires if needed. Good luck and I’m happy this helped ya!!

Daniel Coombs congrats! I hadn’t heard yet.. I love the JP lights. Yes, there are cheaper ways, but this works well and I don’t have to fabricate too much! (Grin). Just have to manage the wires.

goaliegeorge How many lights can be wired in one box? Looks like ill be researching their system to find out how many can be strung in a series circuit
@goaliegeorge4 жыл бұрын
Daniel Coombs as I’ve been told, 3 lamps per a plugin. Each hub has 4 plugin. I did put 4 LEDs on a single plug, so it may vary based on the current draw of the LEDs. I’m going to be experimenting on a building soon, so check with me in a week or so. Thanks!!

Great video while I was doing this I broke tips off of the red wire do you know how I get the coding off the wire so I can reconnect it

I got it I used a lighter to burn off the coating 😀👍
@goaliegeorge3 жыл бұрын
Ideally, wire strippers, but you cannot do that with magnet wire.. so, usually I’ll put a blob of solder on the iron and dip the tip I need stripped into the hot solder to not just remove the clear varnish, but also to tin the wire for connecting. I hope this helps. Thanks!
