Thanks! I learned tracking on Milky Tracker, great program. I'm using 8bitbubsy's ProTracker clone on Windows, it's apparently super accurate but there are a few quality of life improvements that make it easier to use than the real thing. Good luck with your tracking, I'd love to hear some Milky Tracker breakcore.

Question. Do these trackers come with samples or will I need to start sourcing my own library?

@@archivethearchives You'll have to source your own library. You can always download other MOD's from places like the Mod Archive and rip the samples from those if you want. Otherwise, I'd recommend using the Amiga Pal sample conversion software to make sure your samples stay in the right key and tempo before loading them into ProTracker.

Great stuff Paula, very tasteful, minimal yet rich. Ah just the sight of that interface, this brings me back. My Amiga 500, 32 samples, the limitations it brings and how to work around it, work with it. I'd love for a pro-tracker vst3 version, the workflow for jungle beats is so much better than vst samplers. Right hand on the numeric pad, left hand entering the notes. VST synths really changed the game, even standalone like Rubberduck. And weird to think that what I was working with is now considered retro, :D. Great to have found your channel!

Thanks for listening! I missed out on the whole era of standalone software synths like Rubberduck. Never even heard of that one, I just looked it up. I guess it's still available for download but who knows if it would even work. I've always been sad that I never had a chance to use ReBirth. Especially when I first started doing computer music, that program would have been perfect for me. I'm okay with ProTracker as it is, but I also use Renoise to make and edit the samples so I still have some VST workflow going on anyway. Rumor has it there's a ProTracker VST that should be released soon, though!

Assuming you're running this on an amiga emulator , do you edit your samples and bounce them out of renoise and just bring them over to winUAE or whatever? I'm just now getting into Amiga tracking and I'm trying to figure out a workflow for getting the most out of each track. I'm still very used to the higher track count of ST3/IT

@@andrewswebpage I'm actually using the Protracker clone for Windows, by 8bitbubsy. Yes, I do all the sample editing and stuff in Renoise, and there are times, especially with drums, where I have to layer two different loops together in a single sample to fit everything into four channels.
