Woods ported Husqvarna 2100cd - bucking 30” log out of the road

Coworker informed me there was a large ponderosa pine down across one of our roads that needed to be cleared. Took the 2100cd out with a 28” .404/.63 semi chisel setup. Not the fastest or smoothest cutting chain, but it did the job until I hit something with it.

Nice saw . My dad gave me a 298xp , basically same saw . They have crazy compression.

Yes they are - I had to clean up the piston & cylinder on this one, put on new rings while I was in there, and it’s probably between 180 and 200 lbs of compression. I did do a gasket delete on it as well, which may or may not stay in place…depends on if I break any recoil parts.

Oh my!I have one that was buyed for a massive eucaliptus cut and Is new with a 24 and a 36 sólid bar and a 404 standard semi chisel chain.massive torq and low torq Strong bing ping Idle song and can reep a arm at start of handle.Thanks for your post and be happy with your achivments . Salut

Strong saw i to have a 2100 i absolutely love it!!!! Heavy but man what a runner! Stock. I do want it ported tho lol.

Yes they are - I only did a mild work-up on mine, but it pulls hard. They’re built like tanks, but I actually think they’re a little more maneuverable than something like the 395xp.

I'm liking how it's cutting - I did pick up a full comp/chisel chain for this bar, so I'll be trying to do a comparison in the near future.

Get that camera in close ,want to see those chips flying out,,have just built 2100 from parts,taking bank loan out for bar and chain (smile)

Yep, camera angle definitely wasn’t the best. Depending on the combo the bar/chain packages can cost a pretty penny 😂
