Woodsman Haversack/Finnish M61 Gas Mask Bag/Bushcraft/Survival on a Budget. A low priced high quality canvas bag to use as a Haversack, or really for anything you see fit.

As a big fan of what was the essential hippie/punk fashion-bag of the 90's and onward (in Finland, when they were 3 euros) in my youth, I own 10 of these, in different colours and customisations. The waist-strap is used to tie down clothing to the bag in crowded clubs and the bag will fit a six-pack. And pipe-cleaners, rolling paper, hand sanitizer and condoms and light rain gear for all the festivals... There are variants, notably that some come with two compartments and some older ones are sown to a more rounded pattern. The mark may also say SA instead of the tower on the front flap. If you dye it black after polishing all the metal parts it's a man-bag for city use. I love these.

It is an excellent haversack! I have also had this exact same bag for years and have carried it on many excursions in the woods. It is fantastic quality and a perfect size for a haversack in my opinion. You absolutely can't beat the quality for the price. Great review brother!

I have a Russian military sniper bag that is about the same size with OD rubberized coating on the outside I use as a Haversack and only paid $6. Military surplus is great for Bushcraft on a budget. Thanks for sharing your bag with us.

As I get older, I mostly do dayhikes. To that end, the Haversack has grown on me. I have a few different styles from the Helikon to a oilskin haversack and I always return to this bag. I prefer the brown one to the distressed or OD bag, but all work nicely. I like the oilskin bag, but find it too long. The Helkon is just a tad too big. This one is just about perfect for a daypack.

I'm thinking about getting a Polish military "bread bag" that is bigger then a gas mask bag, think it would make a good haversack also
@SurvivorMetalMan6 жыл бұрын
Kaylynn Strain it would be a fantastic Haversack bag Kaylynn, do a video when you do!
@dariuszgyukin7746 жыл бұрын
Kaylynn Strain It's a great bag, I have one. But I'd recommend putting your own strap on it.
@BradGad5 жыл бұрын
I have both of those.. Finnish and Polish. The inside pockets on the Polish Bread Bag are so shallow as to be basically useless. And, the snaps on the Finnish Bag are much more user friendly than the snaps on the Polish Bag. And the “hip belt” thingy on the Finnish bag is actually useful... get the strap lengths just right and run the waist strap over your belt and knife on the other side and it does take weight off your shoulder.
@BradGad5 жыл бұрын
I meant straps on the Polish, not snaps.

I love the old military bags, mine is British, don't get me wrong I think the Hidden Woodsman makes an awesome Haversack, but when I searched " Haversack kits" about 80 videos popped up for the Hidden Woodsman, and most didn't even talk about what they carried it was all about the bag, thanks for sharing, that is a really cool option for a Haversack.

Looks pretty robust with plenty of room and pockets in side. Bit on the big side for me, especially as I am trying to cut my pack weight down, although I must admit the price is really good. Cheers Alan
