What a wonderful video Kurt! I love these kinds of videos. You had some great hand splitting footage, bushcraft and cooking and the sounds of nature. Me and Carter plan to do some more of these as well. Seeing this makes me want to sooner than later. Hope to see more my friend, very enjoyable to watch! 👍🤝🪓

Geeze Kurt, you're never going to get sponsored by the new gen outdoor fashion gear shops camping like that! Life's better when it's simple. Looked like a great night and I was jealous of your cooking. Maybe we need a bit of a whip round and buy you a titanium spork?? 🙂 Love your stuff mate, take care. PP

Wicked meal man made my mouth water🤤🤤lamb over fire is elite🤙🤙🤙. Nothing like a good solo camp trip out bush even if the mozzies' are thick AF. That fork build was genius 🤣🤣🤣 will be sure to try this next time. Dried roo ,wombat , sheep or cow shit burnt on the campfire does wonders for keeping the mozzies away. Sweet video dude keep them coming.

Haha thanks mate! No cattle in this forest but I actually went for a walk up the road lookin for some roo pellets and couldn't find a single one! Ended up throwing some turpentine bark on there a few times thru the night. Yep can't beat Aussie lamb over a fire! 👍👍🪓🔥

The spatula is a work of art. We are all lucky to see it's transformation into a fork. Elegant. I know that meal was good as hell. Makes me think of the tie hacks of Wyoming. They had to eat real good to do all that work. I imagine they'd be very happy with this meal.

Hey Kurt, Great vid of a good ol' Campfire and a cookup in the bush. A nice change to just chill around the fire. Too bad bout the battery. Do another one and get some chopping in as well as the other stuff. Some nice photography as well. Makes me wanna get out there myself. Living in the City drives me crazy sometimes... Well done again mate.👍🙂

Gday Peter, glad you liked it mate. I did end up filming a bit with a phone the next day but that footage is doing something loopy on the computer, I'll try to get it sorted. Love the way you capture the light in your videos. I just picked up a used Allagash Cruiser 2.5 wedge axe. It is on a 30 inch handle which feels to long, but I really like the versatility of the head. Great splitter, and wedge pounder. Decent feller and limber.
@kurts64

Thanks mate. Those wedge patterns are cool, definitely versatile, ive been eyeing off the B&C version for a while now. Mines a bit soft to put a proper chopping edge on unfortunately but the Cruiser looks great. Cheers for watching👍👍🪓

@kurts64

Haha yeah I'd show the toolbox one day but I'd probably get in trouble, lots of sharp things lol. And cookin gear. Yep the water jug mounted under the tray is just an old chemical drum with a tap in it, comes in handy for washing gear and there's another one for drinking water.

Flickin with a maul ... Yes indeed... i have a lot to learn. What is the grind angle of your maul??? My apologies for the newbie questions.... but you make it look like the wood explodes...i know its more than grind angles... But this Florida wood is killing me .... Again thank you and much Respect from St Petersburg Florida..... 15:11
@kurts64
@kurts64 11 ай бұрын
Gday mate, cheers for watching, much appreciated, and anything I can help with I'll try. Yep u can flick with a maul with practice, if your just getting started it's probably easier with an axe both because it's lighter and also the flatter handle shape and palm swell. Flicking with a rounder sledge-type handle can take some getting used to, plus the heavier weight. The maul I'm using is an old Aussie made Cyclone Blocksplitter, it's a 6lb, 32° wedge with a 45° secondary bevel. Made for splitting crazy wood. Cheers mate!👍👍🪓

@@willcarmack1242 thanks a lot for the kind words mate. Good on you for taking up the axe, it's good for both body and mind and never too late to learn. Focus on safety first, and all the other stuff will fall in to place. I got introduced to edge tools and outdoors, hunting as a kid, and the last almost 20 years worked in the bush. Invasive weed control, felling/pruning, firewood, fencing, land and trail clearing, occasional butchering, so luckily get to swing an axe, machete etc most days. Knife making I don't get to do much of these days mate but I appreciate your asking, cheers mate! 👍👍🪓 And thanks for the sub!
