Thanks Jack for another masterpiece. Very beautiful. I shudder a bit every time I see you using the band saw or table saw with those gloves on though. As an ex cabinetmaker, we never ever allowed our employees to wear any kind of glove around machinery. My Dad actually lost two fingers while operating a table saw with gloves on. The glove caught the blade and pulled his hand in.
@jb934711 ай бұрын
Fear not! They're nitrile gloves: skin tight, so next to no chance of catching and as strong in tension as you'd expect a 0.3mm thick elastic band to be, if they ever did.

Why is everyone complaining about the price? It's not an electric toothbrush, or a car. It's a piece of art. And art is highly subjective. It's worth whatever someone's willing to pay for it. And that's great news for artists like Jack, because there's always gonna be rich people visiting art galleries who would drop a grand on something just because it looks neat. You and me are not the target demographic.
@ramonagerber31725 күн бұрын
A person is going to do something all day why not productively. ???? So it took a lot of sanding some electricity. But it still is not worth a $1000.00 price tag yes the wood is great but look at how much he wasted . Not right to make others make up for it .that was his choice. A good one I must say but still not worth what he is asking for it !!!!!😮

I didn't have the patience to watch the whole video, can't even begin to comprehend the patience it took to make this piece, absolutely gorgeous. @jaredwonnacott97328 ай бұрын
There's probably a finish on the wood that makes it water tight. Also keeps it from rotting or molding or absorbing bits of soggy food floating around with it in the dishwasher. I wouldn't stress about it being able to hold your coffee.

@cavebearking532110 ай бұрын
The main reason why it's so much is because it's burled would, it's what gives the would it naturally shiny and unique appearance. Burled wood is expensive because of how rare it can be and how sought after it is for its beauty. Also because people would literally destroy hundreds of year old trees illegally to get there hands on such an expensive wood, so that they could either sell it, or use it for themselves.
