That's awesome Glenn. I am going to try this one, along with your birdhouses. Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom. I need to make a narrow parting tool.
@glennteagleofukwoodcraftca53082 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Did you give it a go? What about the birdhouse? I've lost count of how many I have under our pagoda now. Some are hanging on our outside Christmas tree too.

@@glennteagleofukwoodcraftca5308 I haven't had much lathe time, getting the choir and church ready for Christmas but I did get a new table built to hold my lathe and I think it's going to be awesome. I am going to take a couple days just for me and my lathe and see if I can get these done. Thanks so much for the wonderful lessons and concern.

@@glennteagleofukwoodcraftca5308 I did try the beads and I couldn't believe how simple it seemed to be. Just paying attention to what you said and fo9cusing on what you're doing. I did have some tear out but that was because I was using a piece of 2X4 I turned to round. That was COOL
@glennteagleofukwoodcraftca53082 жыл бұрын
@@JimmyLee0757 You will find the tear out will disappear with practice and the harder the wood the better the results. Happy turning

@@glennteagleofukwoodcraftca5308 went out and bought a bit of beech and it was a disaster. I was putting the marks with parting tool and got the bit where the 38mm drill hole 30mm in was and it just came apart. 😡

I made the tree but the tea light is not bright enough to light it all the way to the top. I love the project and am hoping to find a brighter light.

Hi, thanks for the video! Dumb question: how do you keep the tealight from falling out the bottom? Do you glue it in ?

Hi Glenn. Really nice. As a newbie can I ask you, what kind of parting tool do you use ? It's entirely different to mine. Thanks

Thank you Jim. My parting tool is a carbide tipped one I make from saw blades.
