I have a foot long length of wooden chain, my Grandfather hand carved it out of a single branch. No joins, NZ manuka wood and it's amazing. It was a longer length but it was decided to share it which is nice. Cool idea Stacey.

It may well be a daft question, but I have to ask. When you are glueing the pieces of wood together in the beginning, it looks like you only put a thin line of glue around the edges of the block rather than the whole surface, and then hold them together for a few moments before going on to the next piece. Most other projects like this have used glue painted over the entire surface to be joined and then left in clamps to get a good bond. So: how do you get the pieces to bond firmly, and how is it that your finished block of wood doesn't fly apart when turned? Btw: love seeing you creative designs

Hi Nan Thank you very much for your comment 😊💖 I use cyanoacrylate glue, a small amount is enough to be effective and holding it under pressure for a few seconds is enough to be firmly glued.

@@jimpike3489 You do not need a cut list. Wood length double width to start. So just draw it out on graph paper or CAD program, and you will have the pattern. The exact wood size was given at the beginning of the video before the cutting began. Happy turning!

Hi Jim, Valerie said it all 😉👍 the pieces are 2 cm, you just have to add. On the other hand, you must respect the different lengths because you have to avoid the joints touching each other otherwise the whole will be fragile🤔
