This is such a perfect example of how a piece some how dictates it’s own shape. The piece presents itself with all these possibilities. The master craftsman applies his skill, but listens and observes. As the two communicate, the master finds the final shape among the offerings. Wow! This felt like a “master class” today.

It always amazes me to see the dramatic transformation of the piece of wood you start with, to the finished product you end up with that becomes such a unique masterpiece. WOW! I always wondered if things ever went wrong for you where you didn't quite end up with what you initially planned, but I guess you still managed to make something valuable out of it anyway. WOW! Words just don't do your work justice. Thanks for sharing.

That was pretty cool. I was shocked when the piece came out of curing with the upper section no longer enclosed in the resin. Then I noticed that the wood had darkened quite a bit. I'm sure you were sad that you lost that beautiful color the wood had prior to adding the resin. You did manage to make the lemonade in the end. Great job!! Cheers,

The original piece of horse chestnut was really beautiful. It's too bad that the wood soaked up so much of the resin. I was disappointed when you cut off the top, I thought it would make an interesting live edge. I hope you can use it in another project. The end piece is museum quality. Not bad for a learning experience! Please keep bringing us your art, the world needs more beautiful things.
